Hi, what size should an mpg turn out to be if it converted from Divx.

and what would you say the best was of converting a Divx would be.

    Currently I am using
    Tmpgenc - to get mpg
    Nero - for burning

    thx

If by size you mean filesize then if its vcd, you can see how big it will be by the amount of minutes! Basically, 1 minute is 10mb's. If its more than that then say so!

all the Divx I have converted have been almost three times the size.

I personally use VirtualDub before I use TMPGen to extract the .wav file from the .avi, more reliable than just using TMPGen by itself, and then rejoin the .wav and the .avi in TMPGen.

You can cut the file, into two or three parts, before converting it while in TMPGen.

Well that would depend on your divx file really, i mean if you get tmd movies then ye they probably ill be 3 times the size but if you were to get good quality divx files then it wouldnt be so much!

Personally I prefer to uncompress the audio stream on a divx and keep it in one file with the video stream because if you are using TMPGEnc, it can cause audio to go out of sync if you use a seperate wav file!
