Sorry, complete newbie at burning DVDs, so please bear with me. Anyway, I captured some video (about 1.3 hours long) from my Geforce4 card using Winproducer 3. The resulting MPEG-1 came out fine (MPEG-1 with MPEG audio layer 2). I downloaded and burned the file to DVD using a trial version of Ulead MovieFactory 3 Disc Creator, but the resulting DVD movie was squashed to half of the screen (squished into the left half of the screen) and with no audio. Any suggestions on how to fix this, or any recommendations for DVD authoring software which might be easier for a newb? Thanks in advance!!
I realize that this might be a stupid question, but any help would be appreciated. I've already tried looking up the problem, and all I've managed to do is get myself confused. I don't want to waste any more DVDs trying to get this video burned properly.
try usin nero 6 vision express click dvd option then add ur file u want to use then if want chapters select them or just move straight on to the menu make a menu then press burn and that will take a quite a few hours to transcode mpeg one to mpeg 2 so then just leave it goin over night the next mornin wake up and touch wood all should be fine
Finally, thanks for a reply. I'll try Nero 6 vision, but I was hoping someone could help me solve the problem with the software I already have.
that should work!!! if not try another famous dvd authoring program bu if u decide to use vision express u'll have to download from kazaa or p2p client the nero dvd plugin hope it works out for u !
I'm not too familiar with Moviefactory but did you check your project settings? You might of had them set for a vcd project. If you don't know how to check this, read the help section. Sorry I couldn't give you more info. Paul
No, I'm sure that I didn't have it on VCD settings. In any case, I took the time (4.5 hours on a 2.8 HT P4!!!!!) to convert my video from MPEG1 to MPEG2. I then burned it using MovieFactory. The resulting DVD's audio came out as if speeded up, when played on my computer DVD-ROM and on my DVD burner (Windows Media Player). However, the DVD worked perfectly on my standalone DVD player! Not exactly the optimal solution. If anyone has any pointers for me on how to create a DVD video that will work on both a computer and a standalone player, please let me know.
I forgot to mention in my other post, that after I had converted the video capture from MPEG1 to MPEG2, I tried burning the resulting MPEG2 file using Nero Vision Express 2. Although the file size was under 4.7 Gb (I think it was about 4.3 or so), Nero wouldn't let me burn the DVD. It kept saying that it couldn't compress the video to be able to fit it on the blank media, and that I didn't have a specific burner capable of burning that particular video. Anyone has a similar problem, or know what this is all about? Thanks.
Open TMPGEnc DVD Author & add your MPEG2 file , add chapters/menus & convert ... will take about 40-50 minutes perhaps. If the output filesize is too much then just compress the VOB/BUP/IFO files with DVD2One (or similar). Burn with Nero in DVD-Video mode. !
