    Hi
Searched the guides and can't find one on this.

    I'm surely missing something obvious.

I have a .mpg movie I want to burn onto DVD.

What must I do to it?
    and with what?

    Cheers

You have to use an authoring program before you burn to DVD. I use Ulead MovieFactory which also burns but there are others, DVD Lab, TMPGEnd DVD Author which this site has guides on or just google for them. ImgBurn (free) will burn for you or Nero.

    Hi there,

I convert all my video files with VSO ConvertXtoDVD.

Also has a built in burn engine.

I know nothing of these programs but they're free. Have a look at IfoEdit or Video DVD Maker to author and ImgBurn to burn.
