    Ok. Try this:
    1. Click Start>Run.
    2. Type 'msconfig' and hit the Ok button.
    3. Click the Extract File button.
    4. In the Specify System File box, type in 'c:\windows\system\avicap.dll' and hit the Start button.
    5. Under Restore From either use 'c:\windows\options\cabs' if you have an OEM version of windows or insert the Windows CD into your cd drive and enter the letter of that drive.
    6. Choose a folder to backup the existing files in and click Ok.
    7. Repeat this process (steps 3 to 6) for the following files: Avicap32.dll Mciavi.drv Mmsystem.dll Avifil32.dll Msvideo.dll Avifile.dll Winmm.dll
    8. Close the System Configuration Utility and try running virtualdub.
    Hope this helps... ;)
