MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

First post as well, but have been lurking for a long time.

I'm NOT banned. Had my Samsung TS-H943A flashed with iextreme 1.6 about 5 months ago. Since then I've played backups of all these games (all verified with level 3 in abgx). I've only downloaded torrents, never had an actual rip.

I really didnt play many games before I got flashed, and once I did, I started playing a slew of games so I'm sure that had to raise some sort of flag, no?

Just thought Id post incase it helps anyone.

You cant get online without the update, is there a way to find out if your banned without the update?

Is it just USA anyone banned in the UK?

anyone banned on 1.6.1?

anyone banned that hasnt played UFC / Red Faction / boarderlands?

anyone banned that hasnt played GTA with the activate?

anyone banned that hasnt played a game early?

Is it the abgx False Positive was with UFC and Red Faction ?

Something to do with the one shot boot disc?

I dont know, turned my xbox on its just asking for the update, dunno what to do. on 1.6 atm played gta(not early and with the activate disk) havent played UFC / Red Faction / boarderlands.
dont think GTA passed abgx when i burnt it tho.

 

1. I'm in the UK.
2. Im on 1.6.1 now was on 1.6.
3. Played UFC / Red Faction / Borderlands.
4. Not played anything with an activate ISO.
5. Never played games early.
6. My Red Faction copy was bad DMI and the UFC was ok.
7. I'm NOT BANNED.

Away from my xbox so I can't check today, but I was on all day yesterday and was never banned. My roommate who uses the same rips and everything I use said hes not banned today, so I'm hoping the sames for me.

Mabe microsoft just flagged people a while ago, and just banned all the flagged people yesteday.

No matter what everyone who got banned says there had to have been a bad rip involved, or some early game playing.

 

yeah mate of mines updated, hes in the uk hasnt played UFC, Red Frction, GTA or boarderlands and hes on 1.6. hes not banned.

Is it possible for those that are not banned to say their location (country). I hear that some countries ban waves weren't as violent.

 

Is there a way to restore to factory settings so I can install games to hard drive again. After ban it will not allow this feature anymore. Also I think you must trigger something in your xbox and when the update is done that is when it happens. So it could be something from months ago just my 2 cents.

 

To those who have had their accounts banned. Was your console banned as well? Were you playing games before release? Had you a gold membership or silver? How many games have you played with your account? How much DLC have you purchased with your account? How long ago did you pay the yearly subscription if you have a gold membership?

Just trying to see if there is any reason why Microsoft ban some people's accounts and other people's consoles. It could just be random but I think they will do what is most profitable for them to do. For example, they might wait until a modder renews his annual subscription before banning him or maybe they won't ban gold members at all. They also might not ban profiles that have played a lot of games because they know the owner might be more likely to move over to the PS3 if they do.

 

Hey everyone sorry to everyone who got banned that really sucks. Anyway i modded a lot of my friends xbox's and none got banned. All have 1.51 ixtreme with a wide array of disk drives (lite-on, sammy, benq, and even a hitachi or two.) As for the games the most up to date game i burned was forza 3 so i'm thinking it could have been borderlands or a wave 4 game. Hope this helps and hopefully no one gets banned today. i have the liteon drive with 1.51 firmware, the only game i have played so far is gears of war 2. I am not banned yet.

 

Seems to me like that ones who were banned were not necessarily those who played wave 4, but those who took the attitude of, "I can't get banned because I unhook my ethernet cord when I play backups!" Go figure.

Quick question how many of you are not banned and have played the new gta with the boot disc first. I'm not having any problems at all yet but I'm wondering if maybe I should hold off on using that boot disc and just wait till the fw for my drive comes out. Probably would be a case of to little to late but who knows. What u guys think

 

The boot disc has nothing to do with it.

 

If your banned what happens when you sign onto xbox live online? Do you get a message saying that you were banned or is it like it usually is? The reason why I'm asking is because I'm at work and can't check my xbox. I can sign on to live from my work computer and it doesn't seem like there is a problem. Checked my box before I left this morning and everything was A-Okay. I just would like to check frequently here at the office.

 

This has been talked about already. They actually show a message and someone posted pics of their screen.

It basically says terms agreement violation. its around 2 sentences. No code errors or anything in that nature. Very straight forward.
