well some people want achievement points all on one profile

 

One more noob question: So lets say i decide to mod my 360 like...tomorrow. Do they automatically ban you from this point on everyday or would it be something they would have do do every 6 months or so to catch you (hope that makes sense?)...

 

Not trying to be mean but really achievement points are totally useless so who cares? (if you care then disregard this cause i didnt mean it to be mean).

 

So far, MS have done console ban waves approximately once per year. Nobody knows the exact details, but it's speculated that they accumulate data over time. They will then ban lots of consoles over the course of a few days and there will be no more bans (console bans anyway) until the next ban wave. Mind you, just because they've done it that way in the past, doesn't mean that they'll continue to have year long gaps in between major ban waves. If you mod a console once this ban wave is over, you could be safe for another year, or MS might do another ban wave next week. It's impossible to say for sure. All you can do is mod it and hope that there will still be long gaps in between each ban wave. I would wait until this ban wave is over before modding it though.

You can get a console ban outside of a ban wave for other things, such as using your account for phishing or trying to scam people. Also, you can get your gamertag banned for breaching the code of conduct and sometimes that's permanent (as in the Forza 3 bans that occurred recently).

We can sit here all day and speculate as to how they know, but it really is still a mystery. I modded 3 consoles, all in the same day, about 3 months ago and we all play the exact same rips of games. 2 were hitachi's and one was a benq. One of the hitachi's was banned, and the other hitachi and benq are fine.

the 2 that made it through ok both have Gold subscriptions and have purchased at least $40 worth of XBL content in the past 3 months. The other dude hasn't bought anything and he got hit.

ALL that money??? is a 360 REALLY that much money??? $200 would only be too much money for some1 that doesnt have a job. so GET 1. REALLY, sum1 mentioned in a thread a LONG time ago that if you buy a console and mod it str8 outta that package, will buy you time, because like i said before M$ has a log of EVERYTHING. how many games youve played when you loggen in etc. so playing on a an unmodded 360 for 3yrs and then whatever info M$ gets back from your 360 is different, then they get suspicious and bring out the magnifying glass on you. but Maybe if ur giving out the same info(buying a new console and modding it before even turning it on) from the jump, it'll buy you a little more time to save for that extra console cuz i really think their just banning the consoles now, since its the part of the console that's compromised instead of your gamertag UNLESS your cheating with that whole achievement points thing, THEN your gamertag might get banned as well, but for the people that have just modded or flashed their 360s, the consoles are getting banned...NOT the Gamertags....

 

u can try modding ur console, just dont go online basically until the ban wave is over.

look at these wave 4 games and wave 3 and all that stuff. shows you how Microsoft could release a game with special script to catch us.
i dont think they wanna ban all hackers. i think they have the ability to is what im saying

 

This might have been already suggested ( I didn't read every page) but:

The people that have been banned maybe played wave 4 games with the activate iso disc? I know the games were pretty childish/lame but maybe that's why?

I know every one has there own input and facts and maybe even story but i believe this will be the best way to resolve it all with a criteria and fact check at the end we all believe including myself that this was because a stupid move on our own parts, but reports are comming in that people are getting banned with just firmware installed fresh this month and still getting banned so maybe this thread will get us closer to the answers we seek...

Now i know everyone who isn't banned is gonna say idiots this that or the other this is not for them this is for us to see if there is a pattern... the only reason i say is working with M$ is a pain and 90% of the time everything they put out is crap and buggy and half working, so this ban wave which did happen last november was probably our fault for getting banned, but completing this will help us understand and not have to spend 300$ on a new console in the future
