MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

PROBABLY not. I like to believe that because I have gold account, MS will have pity on me. But I know things are not that way.

My theory is that if you can log on live now and you're not banned, you probably survived that wave. I want that to be true, but no way to know it for sure.

I say again because this thread is a million posts long:
I encourage all who have been banned to recheck all of their disks with ABGX. Report back your findings.

From what I gather, some scene releases don't have a verified match in ABGX. Examples: SF4 - KFC, Halo ODST - AllStars, NFS Shift - PhaseZero, Fight Night Round 4 - CCCLX, Red Faction: Gorilla - Spare. So if you didn't fix them before burning, they will fail.

You wonder if these releases simply aren't in the ABGX database, or if ABGX is fixing them incorrectly. I find it unlikely that the release groups released bad rips after all, they are pros at this.

What you saying is that people played games that they beleived were stealth, but actually were not?

So if they test they tody, they might get that they were not stealthed?

But ABGX can do no wrong! By no means am I thinking that there is some sort of underlying conspiracy when it comes to verifying discs, but I do find it strange that there is only one group doing it.

 

One of my consoles got banned yesterday the 4th. Gamertag did not get banned just console. I have others so i was back on instantly pretty much so i dont care. I did play some games early like wolverine offline, street fighter 4 online and it needed a fix later so that could have been it for sure. I also played MW2 early and i played using a bad copy with activate disc offline and i played online using a diff retail copy later. I dont think MW2 got my consle banned cause i expected MW2 to ban gamertag.

ANd about checking games already burnt with ABGX. In my expereicne checking games from DVD is not reliabale. I have checked .iso with abgx and it passes fine then burned the game and had abgx say it is bad or it cant find it in the database when i know its there cause i just scanned the iso before burning. So i really dont think abgx works well with already burnt games. I have even had a game pass birn and then ABGX will scan from disc on one computer and say it is bad when i know it is good so i scan it on a diff PC with same version abgx and everything and it passes but then go back to other PC and it fails.

 

One of my neighbours got banned today just after downloading sky player. He was signed out for the update and attempted to be signed back in but instead got the console ban message, he only played a few copies: fifa 10, batman aa, left 4 dead, smackdown vs raw 2010 and they were all patched and not played early.

 

i just got banned earlier i moved up to 1.61 and tried cod 4, it worked, i turned off my xbox and when i went back on i got banned. my account is ok tho

 

I was banned about a half an hour ago. I have been using 1.51 for my Hitachi for about 5 months. I played Modern Warfare online to see how good it was and hoping to get banned so I can get it for my PS3. That is the only time a played a game early.

 

well thats the most retarded reason to get one...why not just buy it anyways...

 

Did it say Console ban on the message on your 360? mine said specifically console Ban. I ask cause i would like to know if your gamertag got banned for MW2 or just console. If you aren certain can you try to login to xboxlive website and see if it works to verify?

 

It may of been stupid but it does not matter much to me.

It was a console ban message that came up and I can still check all my stuff on xbox.com.

I'm about to update my iXtreme from 1.6 to 1.61. I hope this will prevent me from banning. And I really want to run Modern Warfare 2 on 10th of November but I'm paranoid now.
I still can't believe that M$ finally decided to spend some money on pirates.

 

just wait for MW2 to be in the abgx databse. before trying to play even on 1.61

and ms does this every year in november, so this isnt the first time...more like the 3rd or 4th

 

no it wont protect you, you will still eventually be banned.

 

All right, I really don't think that EVERYONE will eventually get banned. Sooner or later Microsoft will stop its ban hammer because it is expensive! I think they will ban people until 10th of November or maybe for couple of weeks longer. It costs money to find pirates and ban them and M$ will have to stop at some point. I'm sure Activision have something to do with this. I wouldn't be surprised if Activision would pay M$ nice bribe so m$ would ban people playing pirated copies of Modern Warfare 2.

 

they make more money from banning people cause most of them run out and buy a new console. They need hardware sales this time of the year to "beat" the comeptition. once you put a system in place to identify modded systems i would imagine it doesnt cost much for that to run.

 

Well it was inevitable, I just got banned.

1.6 lite-on always stealth checked.

I was signed on to live yesterday and tried installing a game to the hard drive and it kept giving me a dirty disc error which was odd because the disc was brand new. Tried signing on this morning and I got the console ban sign.
