MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

I was also banned two days ago. Probably for playing forza 3 early (got lazy and didn't realize it wasn't out yet).

My question is if I use my hard drive from my modded console on a new one and use the same gamertag, would the new console be banned as well because it still looks like I played a game early? Or should I just use a new gamertag and start over?

 

My 3 friends got Banned . They play all stealth patch games, didnt play Mw2 .

 

Not that I think it matters but California.

I saw that earlier, but the problem is, the data is easily tainted by people posting deliberately false information. On Xbox-Scene, more than one person has been caught out doing that, saying things like "I'm using iXtreme 1.6 on a Hitachi" or "I've been using abgx360 since 2007" and other people have posted one thing in one post, but then a few posts later the info they post is different. It wouldn't surprise me if some of that kind of thing is deliberate, just to throw a spanner in the works of those that are looking for patterns.

The Bottom line is no one knows what M$' strategy is, so we might as well stop pulling our hair out, and i agree with the above poster, that ppl will lie about their stats so that list is probably not very accurate. Until somene thats an M$ insider comes out and lets the cat out the bag we probably wont know.

 

I bet all m$ employees are getting pay raises and crap so they won't say a word about banning

well my vote is that they are running some new version of .. what was it called... jitter? anyone rem that? it detects all your hardware ..There must be something we are missing which is prob so obvious most of us are going to smack our foreheads in one resounding SMACK when we notice it lol.. because that's all it could be.. there is NO way for MS to detect your firmware.. that would involve changing modes during start up and it would make the drive in-op, and they know we would notice that.. its not the games cause people are getting banned who only played older games verified in abgx..

so my vote is something buried in the new update that activated (maybe like a trojan does), can detect some hardware settings stored on the nvram on the board, and BAM.. the bans start happening

Im thinking i shouldnt of played forza 3, but its already released so i donno. I hate when they go on these banning sprees, now i have to buy a new xbox before Cod MW2 comes out so i can play online

any suggestions on how to get unbanned? (if so)

 

not possible to get unbanned, find someone that doesnt play online and trade 360's with them. screw buying a new one

 

Ive had my xbox for 2 years and flashed it for the 1st time when 1.51 came out, didnt upgrade to 1.6 but did upgrade to 1.61 last week. ive played a few games early, unintentionally, but always made sure they were fine in abgx. I havnt played ODST, red faction or MW2 but have played all of the other games mentioned as a possible threat. Also I have not installed any games to my hard drive. About 2 months ago my drive died and i replaced it with a spare hitachi i found and had to spoof it. As of now i am not banned
also i live in the UK

so im thinking that seeing as ms can alter the functions of your hardrive after you get banned, then maybethey have more control over that than the console itself and can retrieve more data from it.

 

My mate got banned using a new forza 3 edition elite and he didnt even play a copied game even offline.

 

I just got banned about 10 mins ago, but it was my console. It is modded and i havent played any games that weren't already out.

My question is, can i use the same hard drive to play my other 360 without getting banned? Cause i have two consoles but one hard drive.

 

Just got banned a little bit ago and I've had my system modded since 2007 so im still kinda in the wtf state of mind but knew my chances.. What's odd and try to pay attention is this.. We will call the machine that just got banned machine 1 and we will call my other machine #2.. Well haven't messed with the newest firmware yet so I couldn't play wave 4 games on the #1 but due to having a hitachi drive on #2 I was able to.. I hooked my harddrive to my #2 this morning and played Tekken 6.. After I put it back on #1 and didnt touch it all day due to real life.. 30mins ago I started up #1 and within 3-4 mins boom Banned signed pops up.. Ok now im like wtf and turn everything off hook up #2 and place my hard drive to it.. Boots good no ban but where the *bleep* is my gamertag?!!? So i bug the *bleep* out to find out it got corrupted somehow, I deleted the bad one and recovered the nice one. Here's the weird thing. My gamerscore is still the same but no TEKKEN 6 in my achivements history or played games history?? Im guessing it was that which *bleep* me with the wood of MS but relize it could be anything. Just thought I'd share my fun *bleep* night so far.. Oh and location shouldn't matter but im in Jersey so mark me on your map MS..

something really weird just happened to me. My console got banned yesterday and i started using the same HDD on a diff console and my Gt worked fine lastnight. got on today and my profile wasnt listed, i found it on the HDD and it said Corrupted profile. So i delete the profile and then recover it and everything works fine again...............wtf ?

 

Banned as of about 20 minutes ago. Was not banned yesterday.

Played the bad release of Street Fighter 4 early (in my noob(er) days).

As far as I am aware, no other bad rips.

Hopefully this ban wave results in a new understand of the inner workings of Microsoft

Good thing Wal-Mart has that sale going on this weekend. I am sure it is no coincidence. Haha.

seems like most suspected =) ppl playing mw2 online way before the release...i mean doesnt matter if you play it online or not..if you play it and create game saves or something im sure that alone could get ya banned one you log into live with mw2 game saves or mw2 achievements...anybody agree?
