MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

Playing MW2 early is likely to set off alarm bells with MS, but lots of people have been banned that haven't even downloaded the game.

 

I was banned and I've never played MW2 or any other wave 4 game.

Wave 4 is not the sole reason for bannings, as has been said countless times in this thread already.

 

I know of 2 people that got banned so far. My brother played tekken 6 for about 15 minutes then switched to nba 2k10 yestersday. He logged on around 6pm today and was banned. Whats crazy is i know a guy who played many bad rips and is playing tekken 6 online as i type this (He didnt even know what ABGX was!!!) he'll just download and burn.Other xbox has been Modded for about 20 days and was banned only games played was nba 2k10 borderlands and blaz blue. one system in Ohio other in virginia. I wonder if at certain times microsoft does ban probes, because bothe systems were ban around 6 pm eastern time

 

Damn one of my systems was banned as well, luckily I have another xbox I bought and modded already, fusk you microsoft.

 

First haza12d this thread doesn't seem pointless it's to help educate by compare and share to prevent for future ban's. The only thing pointless was your post. =) Sorry.. 2nd after my last post there's 3 people I know who are local to me who all got banned tonight like me. So im guessing my Tekken theroy was false because they didnt play it. Maybe we all are flagged and they take out different areas at different times.. Microsoft is the new Swine Flu!

 

Right people wanted to know where they were from, someone said US got theirs, EU as well? Well im in Canada so us as well my friends.

 

Bans like this one have the greatest opportunities to teach the community.

Mines been modded for 3 months but I have burnt around 65 games and tested them all out while I was on live (stupid me) so I could definitely see that coming. But I have another xbox where I modded and never even touched since or really played a game other than just testing them so I hope im fine.

 

What I want to know is if there is anyone out there who has played ONLY their own original rips and was still banned...

Anyone?

 

I'll test it on my other console cause my brother did play some burnt rip of Guitar Hero's on it that I had offline. If it gets banned i'm not sure if i'll continue my flashing of the 360's. I always modded all my systems myself in the past like ps1's ps2's, gamecubes, gameboy advances shit like that and I do patch every ISO and make sure flashing is done right. Thing is, if I get banned every 3 months and I gotta buy a new console, that is not saving me money on buying games lol.

 

I wonder what do people do with banned console? because once it's banned, it's become useless. most people just sell it but ultimately where does all the banned system end up at? I think it will go back to Microsoft and then they will try to recycle the system, that's my theory. anyone agree?

Not having Live isn't the end of the world, only thing I use it for is talking to my friends... Don't play online with random people too much. It would suck if I did get banned but really I wouldn't care that much.

 

All these theories and getting "educated" on preventing future bans is silly. No one knows what gets you banned. You've seen it in a few dozen posts... I've played this but I haven't played that and I'm still not banned. Also, I've played that but not this, and I got banned. Now you're moving on to location... I live here and I'm banned or I live there and I'm not banned. Hmmm... really informative and educational, right? After a couple dozen pages do we know why people got banned? NO. After all the theories can we do anything to prevent from getting banned? NO. Because listing down your gameplay history, the way you flashed your console (A mistake that I made earlier in this thread), and where you live... all that info amounts to, yep, that's right... nothing. If you're banned, you're banned, If you're not then you're not. No point announcing it to the world.

 

I think my college courses are enough for me dude! LOL Imagine actually trying to figure out a pattern out of ALL this information, it would take forever! Its like a horrible statistics class on BanWaves.

Can the people who got banned and played a pirated version of madden 10 please tell me what version they downloaded when it first came out? I think they were NIG and unlimited, please let me know.

This is happening to me with my memory card. When I play something in the banned system my gamertag becomes corrupted when I put it in the unbanned system. Very interesting.

 

I got banned right after playing fifa 10. Not exactly the greatest game to go out on..

 

OK yea that explains it cause the last thing i did before getting off before this was put my hdd on the banned console to play MW2 then moved it back.

 

I got banned as well. I've only played Borderlands for like three minutes online to get an acheivement about a week after the release date (I used abgx3609 to cover everything). Other than that I never played a burnt game online. I just signed in and got the message. The only Wave 4 game I've played is Dragon Age Origins, offline, just yesterday, using the boot disk. So It might have nothing to do with actually playing the games online, I only got caught now after using the activate Iso disk. I've got a Lite-On DG-16D2S FW 74850C with IXtreme 1.6.

 

What I've done is that, I disconnected my HDD, I use my memory card now, I cant go online because NXE requires 128mb I've got about 110mb free on my memmory card, and I play original games only. Screw this, If I won't get banend I might just start buying originals again. It will tough though since I'm unemployed at the moment and there are many bills to pay.
