Yeah, I read that too. If this is the case then something is totally screwed up in ABGX. Either the program is flawed or using the wrong settings when running a check before burning. This is a possibility though because c4eva has already told us it's not the firmware being detected. I trust him for his word!

 

well they got me,came home from work and there she was"you been banned bitch".lol,oh well it was a good run.don't think i will play with fire.good thing i had my back up from day one.gotta get borderland sucks because i was so far

 

so,
i went to a friends house to recover my gamertag on his xbox because im banned, he had his xbox offline for like 10days, didnt play at all.
and this is the CURIOUS PART, when i turned it on with my hdd an update appeared and said to him "DONT download it", he went like "mehhh" and still downloaded it.
i thought "well if he could download it hes still ok", BUT when i entered to recover my gamertag it didnt connect, i went to test connection and there you go BANNED CONSOLE
he was like "dude your hdd got me banned!" and im like "NO!! you were banned already"
console was modded,hdd cant ban another console right ? RIGHT!?!!

 

His console could've been flagged earlier or was a conicidence. Or, you may have provided a good point for us to look at for figuring this out. C4eva might need to know as well.

 

ok i just got all the necessary parts to flash my console in the mail because i wanted to do it before i heard about this whole wave.

I am really itching to flash it, but i dont want to get banned,
So here's my question...

What if i flashed my console and played it offline (with the ethernet cable out) while this ban wave is still going on?

Could i possibly be banned when i reconnect to live?

 

Just got banned today.
If info can help:
I have Elite with Benq.
Just upgraded firmware from 1.6 to 1.61.
I flash with Blaster 360 NE but last time I flashed I had an error when writting because of bad sata cable. Powered up xbox with half flashed firmware when I was troubleshooting and blaster 360 off and got the red ring so maybe console flagged itself at that point.
Only burned copy played recently is Borderlands region free.

 

ok so i was banned today what a bummer because i just bought xbox live for a year and activated it 3 days ago, i had firmware 1.51 i haven't played a burned game since oct 27, 2009 since dj hero came out which i bought which was before the update hit which i downloaded. i was playing fine up until the 5th of november that was my last login and i was banned on the 7th of november i haven't played any new releases either never played a game before it was in stores, i really do think its the firmware although many people here think otherwise, i check all my games with abgx
also the person that help me flash my xbox some of his customers are playing codm2 as we speak with FW 1.61 connected to xbox live and played borderland before it came out thats one reason i think its the firmware

i kinda think that not all FW 1.61 is the same all over the net i read somewhere that there was an early release of it that was still being tested so that might be the 1.61 that is getting banned and the 1.61's that are not getting banned is the official one but thats just me

 

Ok, so my brother was banned from LIVE yesterday and now I am waiting for the inevitable. We decided that we are going to buy new Xbox's if we got banned and buy and play multiplayer games on the non-modded box and burn single player games and play them on the banned box. Now my question is if we use the same HDD and keep switching it back and forth between boxes will they ban the non-modded box for playing a burnt game on a different box? Or will they not be able to tell since we will not be playing the single player games on LIVE?

 

just came home from a friends house, reconnected my 360 and im banned. oh well time to buy an arcade or something used at gamestop. damn you M$.

The new one won;t be banned for that, mostly because if the box is banned, you can't use anything you do on it. Any achievements you unlock or anything, will be corrupt by using that box, and you'll have to recover your gamertag through xbox live in order to use it again.

 

I had my lite-on flashed from all the help provided in afterdawn.

I updated my xbox today out of curiosity and I was not banned.(maybe too early to tell? i was only logged for 10min. didnt want to take a chance)

heres info on mine.
1. i had 1 corruptted(crc error) game played on offline xbox360. it would work sometimes and freeze during gameplay. (not banned yet)
2. i had my lite-on drive connected to xbox mobo when flashing(some have said it would have flagged if you flashed disconnected)
3. never played any wave4/unreleased games.

i dunno if ban hasnt happened on my console or actually dodged ban hammer.

 

My sons new Elite got banned Friday, he was only on Live for 2 weeks

Being as my console got banned a few days before i decided to cancel my renewal with M$ as i don't bother with Live anyhow. I cancelled mine ok and when i cancelled my sons account i asked about the 30or60?? day money back scheme as he was only on for 2 weeks and they agreed and refunded his money. There such nice peeps at M$
Makes me wanna buy a new console.

 

Well no I mean people with Ixtreme that only played like 1 or 2 abgx verified backups and all other "real" games are banned, but some people that played lots of backups aren't banned.

 

Wow the thread started with people laughing about other people getting banned because they were n00bs or something. Then gradually almost all comments changed into banned ones.

For me it started in 2007, i had one modded and one unmodded (LIVE) console. I played GOW2 and WAW on the modded one and after 2 weeks got banned. Lesson learned to kept playing on LIVE all MP games like COD4/Bad Company/Halo and d/l all crappy single player only to get chevos. WOrked fine as i cud swap the profile easily via hdd to the other console then came the NXE update which i as usual also updated on my banned via HDD then it happened that i cud not transfter the hdd save game or profile to LIVE but putting it back in Banned it would still be ok. I searched and posted news 4-5 months back but did not find a solid answer. So i gv up and modded the LIVE on as well. THen i was very cautious and always verified the copies via abgx and never played early. Finished Batman:AA, played COD4 (original), WAW rechecked with abgx and recently Foraza3 online after the release day.

Now it gets intersting almost 5 days back when the banning started, my 360 developed RROD. I towel tricked into workign again and still played WAW online. Then the RROD started more frequently so i called up MS to check for warranty, they told me that they will fix it. Till that moment i was still connecting to LIVE when i got RROD for the last time. I received the white box and lables but no return paid airwaybill. So today i called MS that i will not pay transport charges and they should send me the AWB. Wht this guy told me was that my console is now in the tampered catagory and if i try to connect online it will ban me. And even if i send them for repairs it will be returned w/o repairs and all charges to my account.

SO my RROD 360 in white box in my car and not banned. So i called up the friend who flashed it for me and he said he will fix it for me. NOw i wil have a banned console not yet banned but can still play modded games and transfer profiles, play media files and install games but i wont take it online.

Now i wil buy an arcade and just do the HDD swapping as i did before.

Iv just been banned this morning :-( i got it flashed with 1.4 in March and then about 2 weeks ago i got it updated to 1.6. I have never played a game before it was out and not played any wave 4 games. Also, my games are all safe and stealth patched as i bought them off a reliable website as have most of my friends who have theres chipped but not been banned! im from the UK if anyone wants to know

 

I got banned yesterday. lite-on 1.6 and only played Tekken 6 which is a wave 4 game using the activate.iso disk. only played forza 2 for 1 day and the seconde day I got banned. Anyone else still playing tekken 6, forza and using activate.iso to play wave 4 games still not banned? I just scanned both of these burned games with abgx and they are stealth patched and everything.

 

Just wanted to add my info I'm still not banned running 1.6 on a benq. I have played wave 4 games on my Xbox with one shot boot disc. Only have played gta episodes though and I Ran it thru abgx and the stealth is uncertain and hasn't been verifed everything else matchs though. I guess that's what I get when I buy my games from someone else. Ether way I still have not been banned and have had my box modded for a little over a month. I got a copy of mw2 but won't put it in my box till Monday night at midnight as people will have the legit copy. If anyone can answer me if the file name for my copy says iwship or something like that is a valid copy to play that would be appreciated. I'm at work so can't give the exact filename but someone should be able to know what I'm talking about. Finally I have gone thru 4 360s since launch so finally decided I was going to get this one modded because I'm sick of ms so if I do get banned I'm just using this one for single player games and buying mw2 on ps3. I think the reason I am not banned yet is because my auto renewal is on dec 3rd I think they'd wait till then so they can collect there money. With that being said I'm turning off my auto renewal tonight when I get home so I save my money just in case of a ban.
