so let's keep is strictly to that. If you have gibberish opinions of what modders are doing, open a different thread somewhere else.

 

Depending on where the "Red Flags" are stored the damage is probably already done, even restoring the original firmware can't guarantee he will be spared from the ban hammer.

 

okay strange thing about these bannings i have just flashed a friends console that he bought from a used console store a few months ago and to our surprise it was already running firmware iextreme 1.4 the thing is he has been on live all the time with originals and he isnt banned. So i would say it definatly isnt anything to do with the firmware bening seen it must be playing games early and using bad rips.

I was banned but i knew the risks and my games i thought were always verified but i fooked up on the realease date of borderlands and used it in my console early DoH!
Ive been back through all my rips and found 2 that autofixed so CoD waw and fight nite round 4 so maybe it was those 2
And to be honest im not that bothered about live as i use my pc for all my online gameplay
Im just ,iffed that i cant play MW2 online but hey ho wait till the release the pc version then i will be a happy bunny as a 64 player map server is more fun and i dont get charged for map update downloads

 

yes but you might not have clocked up enough flags and since I assume he hasnt been on live that isnt possible and DW I am hoping to become a more trusted member lol

 

i just been banned lol,talking to a mate on live cuz he was playin mw2 n i asked him if it was original.yes it was.so i popped in the wave 4 disk then the mw2 disk and it signed me out of live blah blah,o well still keep the console and get a new one for originals,that way i can try before i buy

 

So.... Ive been doing some online serching on this whole banning thing since a guy I know got banned last night.

Here's my deal (note: i know no one forced me to mod my console)

My friend convinced me to mod my xbox telling me that if i do everything correctly I won't get banned from live. I dont care about playing online I use Silver to download rock band songs every now and again.

Anyhow... my xbox is not connected to the internet most of the time, but that will change soon, as I am moving. Hence my issue.

I don't know the firmware (friends at work). All I know is since it's been modded I've been online (my console) maybe twice both times to download stuff. I have only played 3 backed up games never online.

What are my chances of getting banned and whats my best recourse of staying unbanned because I really want to be able to get DLC.

I didn't really want modded in the first place, hell i rarley play my burned games, I let my friend talk me into it, so if anyone could help me out with some advice, i'd really appreciate it.

 

well my buddy just called me, he got banned...he just got his xbox flashed about a month ago.

1.6 flash, only copied games he has are, borderlands and halo odst.

He and i played borderlands together for a total of probly 10-12 hours.

 

Stick it on ebay and buy a new console and stay off live.

 

Checked just now, still not banned.

I have a couple theories of my own on the selection process for bans, one of which is something nobody has mentioned and I'm surprised...

 

is any one gonna play codmw2 on live afther 12am if so report back.

Nah I'll be in bed sleeping, I'm a first shifter. Hopefully my wife can run out and get a copy for me tomorrow sometime (if she can find one).

 

Want to play MW2 but I still have yet to be banned and I'm assuming this ban wave has been focused around the MW2 release. As muffed as it sounds, I'm most likely going to wait until I get home from class tomorrow and see how bad (or better) the bans have gotten over the evening/morning.

I have been banned saturday night and one of my friends also. We have played the exact games but the difference is with his roommate. His roommate has the same xbox modded at same place and played the exact same games but the only difference is that he doesnt install the games on the HD. Checked with 2 other of my friends that are not banned and they also do not install games on the HD. Could it be something that detects the game when it is installed on the HD? This is the only variable that I have found. Any people banned without installing games on the HD?

 

But has your bedroom 360 been banned?

I used it on my 1.61 benq and I'm not banned.

 

that might be true because me and some of my friends also played the same games alot of times we each had a copy of the same game and out of 4 i installed a game to my hdd and i was banned the friends that didnt install the game on the hdd are still good. im going to ask my other friend who also got banned if he installed the game.

 

Does anyone think it would be safer if you installed originals on the hdd and used backups to play them. Apoligize if this has been asked before.

 

I have no idea, but then I don't believe that that quote is real. I saw it quoted on NeoGAF and on Eurogamer, but the people who posted it didn't link to a source. It is not confirmed as being something that c4eva said and I'm sure if he had said it, it would be the hot topic of discussion on here. I only posted it on the off chance that it really is real and somehow we've missed it.
