MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

I got banned on Saturday, benq + ix1.6, no hard drive, just memory module 512MB, did not play anything else but Dirt2 for way over 1 month ( wave3 ), had a couple of game saves of games that have been released long time ago and checked at/on abgx. M$ might use HDD to get info - not in my case. Maybe they have a way of checking if the box EVER booted without the DVD attached ( during flashing or fixing of RROD for example ), maybe they found a way of reading the manufacturer info of the dvdr media or other characteristics of the media - it is not only wave4 FirmWare issue, it also applies to wave3 since Dirt2 is wave3 as per abgx app. - some people saying to downgrade to 1.51 rev - well, I could but: M$ might ban me in 2 weeks ( since they ban with a friggin almost 2 week delay after the new soft release in my case ) and I still will not prove anything unless I delete everything off the MEM module, create a new profile and sign up to a new XBL account... but even than, my other XBOX was started at least a few times without the DVD attached, so i might get hit again... Well, it is not easy to find oou how M$ does it, unless, we all provide 100% correct information about our equipment, and how it was flashed, etc.... still the question will be media used, etc... tx everybody!

Banned last night.

3 month old 360 Arcade with no hdd playing Tiger Woods 10 ripped myself using XBC and flashed Samsung drive.

 

my guess is that every single modded/flashed xbox will be banned sooner than later.
they obviously have something up their sleeves and we are only fooling ourselves if we really think they have no means of detecting flashed xbox.
me and all my buddies got banned and just look around you and see what's going on.
this ban wave is way too big and wide spread to be just foolish mistakes by people who didn't properly stealth their games.
i for one triple check my games, before and after burning and my xbox is only 3 months old and got banned.
there is no other way to explain this.

 

Me and my neighbor got banned today, he had COD4 and CODWAW. I had the same rips as him and also i had UFC 101. I had my CODWAW on my hdd if anyone wanted to know and flashed both drive with xbox power, and benq with 1.51 and samsung with 1.6. Theres my 2 cents.

 

Hi guys been reading through this thread becuase you guessed it i was banned today.

Now thats no big deal you think, but it is! I bought a brand new xbox arcade flashed it with 1.6 firmware and i have only played three games on it. Fight night round 4, resident evil and forza. All three games were properly agbx verified and burnt on verbatim disks with imgburn and verifed.

To be honest im not pissed at microsoft, good on em and i would love to know how they do it. I think they can finally detect the flashed firmware its the only way. O well going to enjoy my new slightly crippled entertainment system and hey i will enjoy it with millions of games for free.

Idk what it was I playing on live for a long time just talking while playing dead space just yesterday.

Today I got my new pack of verbs and burnt Dragon Age Origins (checked it out with abgx lvl 3 autofix) and used the activate disc to play it as I have a Lite-On. I think using the activate disc got me banned

Not completely sure though as I didn't pay attention to if I signed in before I put the activate disc in, I think I was though.

Ah well I had it comming although I think I came out ahead, 21 games burnt eh? I think I can buy another xbox with the money I saved!! Now I have a box to play backups on >.>

 

I also think its defo the FW, My sons 360 and mine were banned last night and we only ever played games that were fully verified first. Both 360's were different models by a year or so. We never played Borderlands or any Wave 4 games other than the original GTA Ballad of Gay Tony and we never used the disc swap thingy. The last game I played and was constanly on it for the past year was COD WAW yet as soon as the latest M$ update hit bang it happened! Both boxes done!

I maybe wrong just my opinion due to what happened in our case

Oh well an Elite is coming my way and a retail COD MW2, only game I will ever play online anyway so not worth the hassle hacking the Elite.

I will keep the banned xbox and keep flashing to play newer games and use my Elite for as mentioned COD and maybe the other odd game i want online.

 

Another one bites the dust. Got me today. Oh the shame, i bought a retail of MW2 early a few days ago and waited to play it in case it would flag me. Ahh oh well.

The new fw must detect modded drives.

I always made sure to use stealth patch, etc. Played a few one shot mode games like tekken and gta

Luckily this was a spare 360 and my main elite console it legit. I wont mess with that one.. but now what to do with the banned console.. guess ill wait till this blows over.. i have an untouched arcade system in the closet

 

I feel like if I didn't cave and just waited for 1.61 fw for Lite-On and abgx 1.02 Id probably wouldn't be banned right now.

Ah well thats what I get for giving in lol....

Ok Folks, maybe this will help everyone figure out what is going on. I bought a used Xbox360 at Hastings about 2 weeks ago. Been playing COD4 and GTA4 originals on xbox live using a trial gold account. Today, this morning in fact I flashed 1.61 using the dosflash method. Firmware read and wrote flawless. I have the Benq. drive and the latest dash update prior to flashing. reassembled my box. played my originals just to insure the drive was still functioning. then downloaded and burned Borderlands_PROPER_READNFO_USA_RF-XBOX360-RRoD.
I Verified the ISO with AGBX360 3 times. Each time all passed stealth and verify. I used the check for anydvd style corrurpt, and level 3 autofix. All returned Green with no errors. So I used Verbatim DL and burned with IMGBURN at 2.5x.and then once again verified usind Agbx360 and the dvd option. returned 100Z% stealth and verified. Put the disk in the drive and began playing for about an hour..went to lunch..when I turned my xbox back on I recivied the banned messege right after It auto logged in. Hope this helps, I read about the ban waves but I assummed it was for people playing games prior to realease and other rumors on here..lol..oh well at least I still have my PC games!

 

It could have already been flashed before you bought it.

 

I guess it could have but when I flash it and it was already flashed wouldn't I have need the original.bin to do so?

 

I got banned as well today. Quick question though....I played one or two games maybe a day or so before release and I assume that info is stored on the hard drive with my account? Now if I take that hard drive and use it with my unmodded 360, is there any chance of that one being banned too because of the info on it?

This ban wave is absolutely insane everything is getting hit!!

 

I think it is about safe to say that the firmware is detectable at this point. Everyone who posts that they were banned has some theory as to how it happened. They simply know who has a modded console, it has much less to do with the games that people think.

 

i dont understand it. i have two modded boxs. one with a hitachi and one with s sammy.the sammy has 1.61 and the hitachi has 1.51. i have over 160 games now but i dont play the games online at all for no reason. when i want to sign in i make sure there is no game in the console and then i sign in to download add ons and other stuff. i sign in about every other day and i havent been banned yet. ive even recovered a total of about 12 gamer tags to the two xboxes in the past week and im still yet to be banned.

 

I just got off the phone with MS and they informed me about the usual..modified console..out of my power to unban it ect ect..but the guy did say that the tenchniques they use are 99% fool proof. If you were banned its your fault and MS will always be there to stick it to you
