Banned yesterday..

Flashed new 360 3 weeks ago. Played maybe 4 times total. All my own rips well after their release dates. From the USA. Flashed using CK3 Pro with probe on my LiteON.

Seems the banwave is still going. I thought it was over but oh well. I also bought a new 360 from the walmart deal as well as Modern Warfare 2. Sucks that I got banned but it's all good. No more flashing for me. It's too expensive..lol

 

I dont see how as your not connecting to anything. The connection SHOULD FAIL. When u hit cancel on the up date. It stops the connection and then you hit Y for the info in W,X,Y and Z. This DOES NOT HELP IF YOU ALREADY BEEN BANNED. Its before u actually get the ban notice. This method has saved 4 consoles that i know of to date. We still have all the functions of saving games and the profiles do not corrupt. But if u were to sign in with my HD and/or Memory Card. I will get the official this consoles been banned, and THATS when everything goes to shit.

 

I am still not banned, and I am not sure why. I'm in Texas, have a Hitachi using 1.51 and have been playing backups for some time now. The discs I use are from two people I know, plus some discs I have burned myself recently. Both of the individuals that I had gotten discs from in the past have been banned. The games that I burned myself came from a hard drive I borrowed from one these people. There have been a couple of discs that were given to me before that would not install to the hard disk because of errors. I would have thought that this would raise a flag for sure, but maybe that just appears to M$ as a scratched disc. I have played new releases like tekken 6, forza 3, and borderlands. All of which I have played while connected to xbox live. I have also never played anything before its release date.

 

The big question around this is: is this relevant? By this I mean I've kept offline since around the 7-8th November since the banning news hit big. Before this i was online infrequently from the 30th Oct for an hour or so every other day. No ban. Now I'm checking using this method and still displaying 1002 (allegedly OK/not banned).

This is moot in that if I assumed by this I'm ok, log in thinking all is good I reckon there is still a big likelihood when online for a few hours however they're doing this, I'll be banned.

Still as I mentioned before, I still have HDD functionality and am happy with single player until this blows over (it may take till january methinks). The news reports approx 600,000 users have been banned. There is no way on earth this is no calculated by Microsoft. 600,000 banned, even if half buy new machines in the knowledge it'll be hackable by Jan then it's a massive bump for there pre xmas earnings.

 

ok so the new abgx360 is out and the game i thought was stealthed was steathed and patched correctly so how did i get banned and how did thiey find out any answers would be great cheers oh yeah my fw is 1.61 if tht has anything to do with it let us knowwwww

 

Got 2 banned consoles and I went back and tested every game I have ever played. Tested the acutal DVDs. And only one that failed was dead rising. But my iso passed. So it is possible that iso pass and the burn fail. So check ur disks. Also I belive once you played one unverified game they watch ur ip. Cause they banned a consle that have never played a backup. New arcade system modded it and first consle I plugged in used my MU after I formated it. And right when I went to test network boom banned. Not a single backup loaded. So returned it to Walmart lol.

 

I ran a test on a xbox 360 that was only on live 1 time and that was right after I modded it. I posted my results in this thread, But here it goes again. I rechecked Borderlands through abgx (with burned dvd tab) first. Got On live with no ban, and stayed on live for about 3 hours. But with my Elite system I tried the "call xbox live test" and they said im ineligible for a repair and told me to visit xbox.com/ban for more info. So my elite was banned and the other "less used" console still gets on live with no ban. I also noticed a couple other systems with no ban that have dieing lasers in them that still get on live even now with no ban.

 

That 600,000 figure was commented by "a friend of a friend" who was said to work in a call center.

In my opinion, until MS comfirms they intend to ban 1 million consoles, then it's just a load of b.s.

MS does the banning themselves. So why would some call center have any specific knowledge in to the process of bannings... other than the simple fact that MS is banning? Can you imagine if someone from a call center leaked any methods or procedures for banning. It's in MS's highest interest to keep any insite in regards to the banning process internal.

That's why I feel those guy at the call centers don't know crap.

 

in yall's expert opinions, do you think i should wait for the new LT firmware to come out to play online? i've got a lite-on flashed with 1.6 and haven't been banned yet. does it matter at this point?

 

The best advice right now is to wait until the new firmware and hope you're not already flagged to be banned.

And the other advice is eat an apple a day, don't piss in to the wind, and don't fart if the power windows don't work.

I called MS to ask if there was a possibility I would get banned on my new/unbanned/unmodded xbox if I would recover my OLD gamertag on my NEW HDD.

This is EXACTLY what I would like to know if I discover I'm banned when I next log onto live.

You will be fine, I've recovered my gamertag about 6 times to ensure it still works, I've recovered my brother, wife, and brother-in-law GT on their xbox & HD and they were fine too. They are not doing anything to our gamertags this time, just the console. I even used my old hard drive from the elite and still works fine. I just backed up my saved games and theirs and formatted my HD and theirs to just be on the safe side, and copied save games back to HD and all is back to normal.

 

Banned about 15 minutes ago while playing retail version of Modern Warfare 2.

 

SAME here....And i was online with MW2 just about 10 mins ago..i played campaign for a bit...plugged my xbox back into my router because i plug it straight to the modem for multiplayer and boom..."console banned" message as soon as i try to sign back in...I bought the Retail Version simply to avoid this....Guess they can read the firmware after all

I just got a text from mate his xbox is banned and its stock, hes had it from new hasnt change anything, hasnt got the gamertag from anyone else, hes hasnt done anything "wrong" and hes banned. has this happened to anyone else?

 

can u tell us which firmware did ya have, who played retail on modded?

 

doesn't mean they can read your firmware just go back and double verify all your disk. like the actual dvd using abgx. sometimes the burn does something bad and issues. and that is how they catch you.
