MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

After I mod a drive, the first thing I do is put a backup disc in it to test it out... so when people state that they have never used a backup game in their modded console, I am always doubtful.

 

just heard that a friend of mine was banned tonight, but was playing live this morning. looks like the hammer is still playing in its bed of nails....

Interestingly enough - his xbox was flashed when he got it, with a really outdated firmware, so he updated it several times before he got banned - it's survived many banwaves until today.

 

Question: Is it possible to remove the Xbox Live component from a 360 profile?

I want my 360 to stay connected to my home network, but I am tired of it trying to sign in to Live every time I load my main profile.

Any suggestions?

 

yes while that may be true, your still to provide any evidence to backup your original statement. I dont mean to be hard work but the more people speculate, the more false information out there. Surely this causes more harm then good to people trying to work out M$ methods of finding out who to ban.

 

has anyone thought about MS having every posible drive with IX on it every version and model (1.5,1.51,1.6 etc) because of ppl who tried to get there console fixed or replace and all that did was give them info to detect the FW in that case all they did was give them info to ban everyone. It has been said that IX is undetectable well maybe MS countered with something similar to IX to counter and detect IX without us knowing and maybe they have a leg up on this but we'll all have to wait until next FW and see what happens.JUst wanted to add my .02.

 

Its obvious that microsoft is able to tell that we are playing backups. This has been discussed many times already. Regardless if its verified or not, Microsoft can tell if you are playing a back up. HOw? Nobody knows so having the latest firmware will make the biggest difference.

 

I don't think M$ needs us to send them our drives to get the ix firmware. I am sure they can get it themselves. I hear they have computers of their own.

 

I played on xbl last night (cod5) and logged onto xbox.com this morning, and everhting is honkey dorey. Sammy with 1.6. So does that mean i'm safe? Of stay off awhile?

 

Ok i couldnt be happier, went to tesco today bought new xbox arcade for £160 which i thought was cool and guess what i got new call of duty for £3.67, the stupid woman removed the game instead of the lucozade as i said i wanted to pay for xbox and game seperate !! Result!!

Anyway im happy now and cant be arsed for all this banning etc. Go get a job all kids out there or steal some money and get two xbox's one for online and one for single player. Why bother for all this hassle everytime and pooing yourself going online online for £160!!

Im out and im just an observer interested in this story.....how the hell did they do it!

i beat ms ...im keeping 1 xbox that is banned but never officially got banned for single player games and imma swap a broken xbox that i got for 20 for a new one and just play cod mw2 on it....ms dosnt win

I've been told that I can't get banned becuase I haven't played any of my backups online, only offline. Is this true? Or can it decrease the chances of you getting banned?

I agree too. I had two systems, one was banned and the other wasnt. As soon as I got banned, I took my ethernet out of the one that wasnt banned and will never put it back in.

I then purchased an arcade unit (because I like going online and I play tons of Madden), and will use that for the 3 or 4 games I do use online. Ill pay the full price which is fine for a couple of games. All the other games will be "back-ups" on my modded system. It still saves a ton of money, and regardless, they make most of their money on the games, not the console. Its not like your doing them a huge favor by buying another system.

Instead of trying to screw the company, just do whats best for you. I am sure the $$$ you lose when buying a $200 system hurts you more than the gain mircosoft gets out of selling a new unit.

I was on Craigslist and found a guy that claims he can "unban" your Xbox. I told him I was banned and wanted not to be. This is what he sent me back:

I have a program that can take the consoles id and replace it with another, which is what Microsoft uses to identify banned consoles

Obviously, it's not legit. However I did think you all would be interested as to how quick people are looking to take advantage.

 

unethical it is. but so is selling millons of consoles that you know are going to fail.
