MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

It was new. There torrents and level 3

 

When I was banned, I had my HDD and memory card out. Is it safe to put them back on the banned console? All of my savegames and profile is on the memory card and I have RockBand 2 and the Forza 3 second disc installed, as well as a legit fallout save on my HDD...

Obviously I don't want to screw any of these files up, I have a backup 360 but I'm keeping off of it for now.

 

hi, I got banned also, a week ago, I will keep the banned box for testing the games off line, download them, verified or unverified - do not give a damn, anyway, I like about 1% games released, and this way, if I find two games a year, I will purchase them and play on my second, unmodified, recently a dirt cheap xbox that I got, and *bleep* 'em.

 

also jus found that all my prifile and games saves are fine thats gd at least

 

May have been answered already but this thread is madness.

What is being banned the profile or the xbox. A friend of mine got banned, bought a new xbox and is back online saying he lost nothing but the system. Others are saying that you will lose game saves.

Anyone have a clue?

 

You know jolly well xbox is amazing and the online live service is amazing. If you want to play online buy it legit. Have two. What microsoft are saying is you can play your offline games freely but if you want to participate online buy the game. You cant get fairer. I was going to gut swap then thought sod it ill keep it.

I've read every page of this thread and here's some info that should help some people.

Ya, this one has been tossed around a bit. Your profile that is on the HD that got banned will be corrupted. It can be deleted using an unmodded xbox and recovered through live. If you put it on the modded xbox again to play some single player and anything is changed on the HD during play it will corrupt it again and you will have to recover again. When you recover your profile it reverts back to the gamerscore of the last time you were logged into xbox live. This is done to keep people from getting achievements on modded 360's then uploading them to live with legit 360's.

People need to stop talking about gut swapping. When you swap, your new serial number is on the case that you return. M$ looks up that SN on live and BAM!! There's you credit card and information for them to go after. It's fraud and definitely prosecutable. I know that modding isn't really on the level but lets stick to the things that don't involve mailing M$ solid evidence of the crime.

For the people who are thinking that M$ flagged everyone months ago and is banning everyone based on that data, what about the people who bought new 360's after getting banned (not yet knowing how severe it was), modded their new system, then got banned immediately when they logged into live? I'm sure your profile's flagged as well, but it seems a little harsh for them to get banned immediately. I think M$ has to have some way of reading FW or something very similar. Of course, that's all assuming that the people who posted that information weren't dirty informants sent to rile up false theories.

Why the hell are you going to buy a ps3? You obviously bought the xbox as its better then the ps3 and paid for the gold membership too? Why didnt you get the ps3 first then? Price?

Go buy another fing xbox for £160 and use that on live??? Or sorry are you trying to get microsoft back by not buying another console?

My brother got banned and wants to buy a new console for online retail games. He wants to use his old system to play his backups. So he can still do this but he won't get the achievements? That really sucks for him as he is an achievement whore. lol

 

Got banned earlier today around 1pm. So I went to best buy and bought an arcade version got it flashed straight out of the box plugged it up logged on everything was cool so i turned it off. turn it on right now and i'm banned without even playing 1 game. I'm going to take it back in the morning to best buy.

 

Hard to believe you read every page lol, that's like the Bible in length but anyways word on the street is people are getting banned? im confused i have a few questions?

2)Do i need new firmware
3)why doesnt this new tekken 6 or call of duty work?
4)can i still save games?

So I haven't been banned yet but I only assume its a matter of days. I'm not going to connect to live again. What I am going to do is buy an arcade system and hook my HDD up to it. That way I can still play my mod offline get achievements and play my retail games online. As long as I never get banned this should work right? I mean it sounds like a good way to still play single player games offline and get achievements. Anyone think this is a good idea?

Also since I won't be using the system online can I burn games without abgx or do i still need it for wave?

 

erm that profile info could be anyones... could be sold on craigslist, could be a friend that recovered a tag w.e. I know one of my several peices of crap had like 5 previous owners anyways that shi*'s all stored on the hd anyways.

 

tru but they still can just ban the consol and you well be back wear you started. they have the serial for all we know they could be doing that already.i say keep it buy another they are so chep right now and we dont know whats going on right now so it would be good to wait a bit anyway

 

I have a liteon with 1.6 and i'm not banned yet, however i am flagged to be banned , i was playing retail of MW2 online tonight for about 3 hours. i've not signed back into live since and i've heard of people playing online ok but as soon as they sign out and back in they get banned.
not to fall into this trap could i hook up my hard drive to a standard unmodded console i have thats got a broken dvd drive, hook up to live and let that console get banned.
Then when the new firmware comes out i can flash my liteon and be back online
would this work?

if i'm flagged to be banned then its gonna come and i dont want my modded console to be banned

 

Most likely not, they have probably flagged your xbox....not your profile, if not both. We don't know this for a fact but I would say it's about 98%. As soon as you get back on the modded 360 it will probably say you've been banned. Stay off it if you want to keep the ability to earn achievements on it.

 

Lol, I know it sounds crazy but I have a lot of people looking to me for answer right now....haha, so far I have none. At least pertaining to how to get back online. I can probably answer yours though...

1) Most likely, M$ can now detect our FW....somehow.
2) New firmware is being worked on...ixtreme LT...no ETA
3) If you still have 1.6 then you need to use an activate.iso disc. Youtube for a tutorial
4)Yes, if you stay offline your xbox will be just like it would otherwise. If you get banned you will have problems.
5)Your hard drive will only be corrupt if you get banned. Actually, only your profile will be. Read my previous post for more info.

question....u think its the serial or the mac address? can anyone try a wireless adapter to see if the get the connectivity?
