I got banned, i turned on my 360 (Samsung MS-28) (flashed at 1.61) and tried to sign in and it said that cr@p about your banned yada yada.. so i take off my hdd and put it on my other 360 (Phillips - BenQ) (also at iXtreme 1.61) and try to connect w/ that one and i got banned on that one too! btw it erased my XBL account off my HDD!

So just be careful and wait for the new FW to be released, trust me, it's not worth it!

See if you can recover it. I haven't heard of that happening before.

    1st ban) Slap...shame on you.
2nd ban) Ok, you lost if for good now.

    That would really suck!

    Just a thought.

I'm glad I'm banned. My son more so since I replaced his modded console with a legit one. The joy I saw in his eyes when he bought himself a legit GOW2 was far greater than my giving him 30 backup games. I guess I shouldn't have subjected him to such fear and anticipation with a modded console. At least with the modded console he was able to play all kind of games and now knows which types he likes. He will be buying new games with his own pocket money from now on and I'm sure he will be able to buy wisely. If you are going to spend your own money for legit games I guess you'll only be buying 4 or 5 must have games a year. That is not too bad.

Best of luck to all surviving fellow modders out there. Maybe I'll get myself another modded console when the ban dies down. It's fun for a pirate like me...lol.

I cant wait for this new firmware, i hope C4eva can figure it all out, and for all drives. I wish he would give us an ETA because it really sucks not being online, even if you are only playing single player. I like to see my friends on there and chat with them. Also im hanging for the arcade release of perfect dark and quake arena arcade...oh and serious sam hd.

if you buy a used console on ebay then sell it on ebay again after the ban is over you will only lose a minimal amount of money. Do the same thing with the games.

I've been a XBOX live user since day 1. Had my 360 flashed about 3 weeks ago, before I knew the wave was still going. I've played Arkham Asylum and WET. I don't think I am flagged, I don't play on XBOX Live that often, but since I bought Modern Warfare 2, I've been on quite a bit. I wish I did not have my 360 modded..It's not fun turning on my system and being afraid of being banned every single time.

I'm just going to flat out say my opinion, you all can believe in what I'm about to suggest or not. I've done many things in my life that involve taking apart a lot of things, there is always something that comes up in my mind as to what is plausible. I have concluded in my sense what I feel if I where to make a programmable machine and have the right mind to put in the code an error checking system that sends info packets to my company for fraud prevention reasons (As well as updates to fix the issues), I would certainly do so.

My observation of this ban wave is that, You are flagged (Yes, very obvious, but down to the basics.) You have done one of the following, (Played a game early, flashed w/ the xbox for a power source, played an unstealthed game, done something abnormal that an xbox shouldn't do, etc.) In this you have been flagged, by this time, Microsoft knows about this error, and knows you that you have violated the TOA, by which microsoft hold's your ban until they expect a game to sell very well so that in which return they can receive and increase on their money (Which is also very logical). Before all this, you could have been banned for being a sore thumb sticking out and the reason you get banned faster. After you have been flagged, they put you in their system to be banned next time you sign onto live, regardless of what you do to prevent it. And of course when a ban wave is going on, they will ban anybody who gets flagged in that session of the ban regardless of a wait system.

This is my theory, might be lame, but I believe some of it can be true to some extent, but we'll never know unless we have someone who can reverse engineer what is being done in the xbox to tell us.

Good Luck all, and for the update, I'm not banned yet (1.6 ix, no early games, all abgx checked, ms25 drive, gold membership). We'll see in the next coming months. =)

Edit 11/15/09: Banned, o well. I care less about the save to hd feature let alone live, lucky I can still play backups as well as play on my ps3. Good luck all. =)

    2 things:

My box got banned but my girlfriend has an xbox that's been modded but hasn't been online in quite a while (2-3 months.. hopefully avoided the hammer) .. what are her chances? Will it be possible to "unmod" her console so that she avoids the ban?

I have an elite with the bigass HD. I understand my saves are corrupt or something of the sort, but how will that react if I take this HD and stick it in a brand new arcade xbox? I can still save/install/not get banned again?

Thanks for any and all answers guys.

Hopefully we can unmod, I wanna play some MW2 online.

So I bought a new xbox to use online and use my modded offline. Doing this do I need to even patch games anymore? They will only be played offline. I will be swapping my hdd back and forth. Will this show to Microsoft?

Patch games to your heart's content. Play them early for that matter.

Swapping the HDD between banned/non-banned is fine.

The Arcade+$100 gift card are going for $300 on eBay. You aren't just getting the 360 for free, you are making $100 profit.

ok guys i'd like to say what happend to me.
firstly i have 2 elite consoles both benq drives and both flashed and updated every time new f/w hits xbins.
i was playin cod mw2 the day before it hit shops this was ripped from the genuine copy i pre-ordered which i received early i did several rips and checked all disc data matched (this was with a kreon sammy)
i was online and lagging crazy and freezing i pointed blame towards my console and took off my hdd and went to play on the one in the living room went to log in live and bam! your banned. Fair enough i knew the consiquence so i go back upstairs and sign in and have been on live all week nothing has changed on my hdd nor is the console banned?
(the lagging fault was down to my belkin router)
my point is what i can come up with is that they must send a signal to the hdd and when u sign back in it bans the console that been whichever console the hdd is on when you sign back into live.
my consoles only play stealth and verified games ran through abgx or riped by myself with the kreon and checked. also the one that got banned hadn't had the mw2 game in at all.
does the process of been banned sound correct and has anyone else had similar expirience.
this was also the older console of the 2 and all the poeple i know banned they all have old consoles the ones with later consoles are not but are playing the same games
is this an m$ stunt to get rid of old consoles and boost sales?

I'm not banned but everyone I know is. So I'm just going to keep the mod offline so I can do hdd swaps with my new system and not lose achievements while playing on the mod. So you're saying I don't have to patch games anymore as the system will never be online again? I don't see how Microsoft would know.

If a console is banned you don't have to ABGX patch at all. You can patch from wave X to wave X all you want.

Since yours isn't banned, you should keep doing all of the 'right' things.

So, now that Microsoft has reached there goals of 1 million banned consoles. Do you guys think the wave is over? Only thing I'm really worried about is the fall update next week.
