MS Ban Hammer - 10.30.09

As I stated, they can detect the FW...PERIOD. They can see that the fw is checking for stealth first, despite whether it's a legit copy or not.

I was also one who played abgx patched games, rarely played burned games...own Cod4 and MW2 and still got banned.

 

This blog has gone to the dogs now, same questions and answers over and over.
I just want to know of any new news about ixtreme LT, when will it be released?

 

Going by the logic that they can detect firmware based off of the disc drive working.... I have not been flagged and havent been online... i only want to go online to download dlc... if i go on with no disc in drive, what are my chances? I mean i know they there is a chance but by the logic of the drive needs to be working for it to happen, wouldn't that mean that i'd be safe?

 

who knows if its a wave or if they found out how to detect and created a program to ban on site? this may be permanent.

 

Read. the disk doesnt matter. everybody is getting banned by doing something different. the only thing we all have in common is a flashed drive. its over. connect and receive ban or get a new xbox and swap your HDD to get DLC.

 

Without your HDD where do the updates install to????

 

Sigh, did you even read what I posted? I am simply stating the fact that a couple days ago people were posting every 5 minutes that they were banned. Now no one is.

 

if you guys pay attention the majority of bans have happened on monday for the last 2 weeks. so tomorrow i bet there is a nother chunk of users banned.

but it has been determined that the fw is being detected via the bad angles that are somtimes reported but not always. like when you rip with kreon sometimes you will se this and sometimes you wont. the ixtreme fw does the same sometimes. in order to minimize the chances of this you need to install any games you play to the HDD cause when you do this the drive only access the disc once to check it is in the drive. otherwise when not installed the hdd it is constantly reading the disc and loading stuff and there are many many chances to be flagged.

 

You state that its the firmware giving off bad angles and stealth checks in which microsoft can detect, but what about those people getting banned without even playing a game after they have modded their 360??

 

ah crap just got banned the other day everyone i know around here that have a modded systems and connected to live are banned as well, playing pre release or not

 

That is because everyone who could post is banned already and have already stated it.

 

Can someone answer this??.. one of my friends has had his Xbox flashed prob about 2 weeks ago, but has not played any burned games. He continued to play retail games online during this whole ban wave and he is not banned. How could this be considering we believe MS can detect firmware?... im just curious.

 

it seems that if you mod your system after you have all the latest updates you are somewhat safe. c4e is running more tests now but we will see for sure what its like in a few days

 

Here is a kicker.

My XBOX was never modded. Bought brand new at Walmart. BANNED -- 3 days after paying for 1 year of Live. And the joke -- Today -- MS billed me again for another year. In 7 days, I paid almost 200 bucks to MS for Live service on an XBOX 360 that isn't modded but is banned.

I spent 7 hours on the phone, and finally ended up getting a supervisors supervisor who claims they too have a Banned 360 which isn't modded that they just recently purchased.

Something is very fishy about this whole thing. 1 Million Xbox 360's banned?? ... And no one even stops to think -- is it possible some of those Xbox 360's are legit ??

This whole thing is rather convenient --- nearing the christmas season lets ban 200-500 Million dollars in Xbox 360s, in the hopes to maybe scoop another 200-500 Million dollars.

One thing I can say for sure, if this is not corrected, I am definitely switching all my product to anyone but microsoft. Including my nice shiny new Windows 7 -- LINUX !!

 

Cool story, I have a hard time believing that one. Microsoft couldn't risk banning random people to try and get some more cash on sales. They ban every year around this time and they have a way to detect the mod, some how.

Also, live is only $50 a year so you didn't spend $200 on live. Either way call microsoft and tell them you want to cancel it and they will.

 

I'm sorry but I really find all this hard to believe. If they banned an unmodded box I'm sure M$ will unban it if you show them the box. And if they charged you within 7 days for another 3 years of Live then they will refund you after checking their record. M$ is an AH but not some 3rd rate dishonest company. I'm not a M$ fan but they have been providing me with free software all these years and I love Win7 (yes free too) <<wink wink>>. If you didn't mod your box there is no way you will suffer financially. Good luck.

 

If MS can detect the firmware because it is doing security checks, does that mean the older firmware (stupid post probably) is somehow a little safer as it didn't run the checks or as many checks as the newer firmware. Only reason I ask is because I had 1.6(BenQ) and my mate had1.51 (Hitachi) and we both play the exact same games(make each other copies) and keep it connected to live, I'm banned and he isn't and to be honest he probably plays games more on live then I do although that probably doesn't make a difference.

 

Ok for one i think its bullcrap that you never modded your xbox.

For three stop crying. To be honest i love the xbox live experience and im glad they stop piracy becuase that means more money for game developers and better games for us!

Juts buy another xbox for cheap and use that one for offline games. Is that not fair!!?
