when installing the card on boot up it say's in the new hardware wizard window "cannot install hardware an error occured during the installation of the device, data is invalid". after several attempts i sent it back to zip zoom fly and recieved a new one. still, same problem so i sent it to msi and recieved a new one from them, guess what same thing. so i searched the web a found a couple things that could fix the problem. 1. the registery editor way with no succes,2. changing the driver.cab file through windows. still nothing worked. i have a intel celeron d 340 2.93, intel d865 perl motherboard, ultra pc3200 400mhz memory 512, ati 9250 256 mb video card, sound blaster audigy sound card,. also running xp pro os. i'm sorry if it's to much info or to much to read but wanted to be through. i would appreciate any help. i've had this card for 5 months and would like to use it. thank you. mike
first thanks for responding. after the new hardware wizard comes up with the above message i try installing the driver and it say's "the @nywhere driver installation failed". i've tried updated drivers from the msi site, updated my mobo bios, talked with msi on the phone for 1.5 hours and still no solution. i'm sorry if i sound angry but i am. all i want is for this to work. im already losing money after shipping this back out two times, that's why i just want to keep it and make it work. thanks mike
Im assuming this is a tv capture card right? Ok if your running media center xp and this card is not on the approved list it will not work with media center. Really the only thing I can suggest is go to device manager and manually update the drivers. Other than that I think its time to call a repair shop. Cause I really dont know without looking at it. It could be a conflict with soemthing. If ya in ne pa I run a small computewr shop and your more than welcome to bring it over for me to take a look at it. Sorry I can be further help. But it may also be a hard ware conflict too. It can be any number of issues.:>
hey i appreciate your help, i have taken it to one computter hospital and they were un sure to. maybe i should cut my losses and attempt another card. any suggestions on whats decent for a tuner card, would appreciate your input. again thanks, mike
This one here seems to be a good one and is talked bout pretty frequently here in ad http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815116625 BTW...since you cant get this card to work...make me a offer. I will take it and you can recoup some of ya losses. Maybe I will have better luck with it. :>
