I apologize I was not able to find the answer by browsing threads on this topic. My question is regarding multi angle movies. Are we yet able to use DVD Rebuilder with multi angle movies? I use DVDFab 5 to rip and I believe the video with angle (1) is the default and (2) is the extra angle so I usually pick (1). Movies like Pulp Fiction and The Others have given me troubles in the past. I understand different programs might work better with multi angle movies, but I prefer to stick with DVD RB and Fab5 if at all possible. I have also tried using VobBlanker and FixVTS. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

Something I have not tried yet, but maybe it makes most sense to just do whole disc instead of movie only for multi angle movies?

    DVD-RB will work.

When I try to run VobBlanker on The Others, I get an error message right away stating "there are at least one multiangle (UNSUPPORTED)cell. The VTSs containing these cells have been marked as skip.

Do I still run VobBlanker anyway?

The issue with DVD RB was on multiangle movies, it would play both angles back to back. So like on "the others" it would get to the ending but then go back a minute or so and play the 2nd angle ending.

Don't do any preprocessing before using Rebuilder. If you run into problems, there is no way of telling what the other software did.

In DVD RB once I target the source (multiangle movie) then I get a note stating "detected angle and/or interleaving on source". I am using DVD Rebuilder v0.98.1 Freeware (limited) Edition.

At 100% for "the others" in DVD RB I get the error message, "error in updateIFO:VTS_FO VOBID:05/CELLID:01 was not found in the VOB."

How do I avoid this while still using DVD RB for multiangle movies?

Try running the files through FixVTS first.

The problem is not in DVDRB. You're not processing multi-angle movie through DVDRB. You ripped only one angle in movie only mode in DvdFab, so the problem could be that DvdFab is not allocating pointers correctly, thus making other programs thinking that it is processing a multi-angle title.

If you DVDRB to process multi-angle DVD, then rip in Full Disc mode in DVDFab.

VobBlanker does not support multi-angle title. That's why it is marked as Skip.

When should I use VobBlanker instead of FixVTS?

OK, I have opened FixVTS, clicked on open and opened all of the VTS files (6 of them) and then clicked on cleanup.

Maybe I should have posted this all in the newbie section. However, I wanted to list my steps now in case I made an error in how to do this. I will post more once I try DVD RB with this attempt.

And that is why I suggest FixVTS so the IFO can be corrected.

So any time DVD RB says "detected angle and/or interleaving on source" does that mean it won't turn out unless I change something? I am getting this message even after running the files through FixVTS. It appears that mode/angle processing is not available in the free version of rebuilder.

Does this all mean I need to use the paid version of DVD RB to make multiangle discs work?

That is just a message. Don't worry.

I did not get the error message in DVD RB after putting files through FixVTS first. I will need to give a few movies a watch just to make sure they work now, but I think that did do the trick. Thank you! :)

It's a common practice here to use FixVTS after ripping with DVDFab even if the files don't need corrections.

Would you ever use VobBlanker or does FixVTS take care of everything VobBlanker would?

VobBlanker is stronger and does more than FixVTS but for something simple like this (correcting IFO files), FixVTS is faster.

For FixVTS, can I drag files from multiple movies at once, or is it suggested to do only one movie at a time? This does seem to go a lot more efficient than VobBlanker. Also, since I am doing pretty simple stuff here, it seems pretty safe to just have the program replace the files rather than backing them up which is nice.

One movie at a time. Select a VOB and then select Full DVD.

OK, that is easier than dragging all of the VOB files. Thanks!
