Hi, I am looking for probably some basic info and hope this is the right section to ask. I want to get an external hard drive to store lots more stuff on - movies etc, but my partner says you can get one that you can play directly onto the tv, called a multi media drive, and to get that. He is as much as a technophobe as me so..no.1, is this possible to buy and no.2..any recommendations? Don't know where to start. I have googled it but to be honest all the ad's don't mean much when I don't know what I am looking for. Ok, thanks.
yes, there are lots of such drives available. The quality varies greatly, and most only support a handfull of formats. I have yet to find one that I would actualy recomend (even the PS3 won't meet my standards)...but perhapse some of the other users have had more luck than me.
Thanks anyway, will look into it. My son is getting a PS3 250gb for xmas, and I obviously don't know much about that even ie that it has multi media functions. A bit of research is necessary I think..thanks for the reply.
Yes, it would be a good idea to find out what you are giving him...it is much more than a video game...to quote the commercial, "It only does everything"
Ha, 'It only does everything', and about it I know nothing (except that it plays video games). I had better crack on with the research so...
