Multimedia audio controller error 28

    Hey all, in device manager (after a reinstall of XP pro) it says that the multimedia audio controller isn'y working, i tried downlaoding drivers but couldn't find right one, This is the problem to me not having sound right???

    yes.. you are quite correct. Without lots more info that's all we can do..

    Try google your mobo.. if you don't know what it is open it up and look for a number printed on it and google that ;) (last resort cafe.. surprising how well it works)

    thanks for your reply but i had no idea what that meant, what is my "mobo" and what do i look for when i open "it" up???,

    Motherboard ;) big board with lots of wires coming out of it.

    If you look you will see some numbers printed on the board.. DDR800 etc..
    The one you look for is the one like here that seems like a serial/model number.. In this case F43G V1.0 and google that..
    Results should lead to a manufacturers site and driver download locations... or post the number here and I will have a root around and find them :)

    OK i opened it up and heres what it said on the sound card:

    Sound Blaster live!
    Model SB0200

    and also there was a serialnumber: M1SB0203414007631C

    thanks for your help,
    Is this enough or do you still want to know my "Mobo" ;) number???
