alright i recently formatted my harddrive and reinstalled my windows xp. everything is running fine except i do not get any sounds coming from my speakers, which were working before i reinstalled xp. they do not have any software to install so i went to my device manager and saw that the multimedia audio controller has a yellow ! next to it. so im thinking this is the problem to why i cant get any sound. i clicked on it and said reinstall but it wouldnt work. anybody know how to fix this? thanks.

If you're running the sound from the onboard audio controller, you still need to install drivers for it. They're usually a part of the chipset drivers.

    What motherboard is it?
