I have two Sony DRU-820a burners with the same firmware and am trying to burn using the multiple recorder option. I am burning at 8x and keep getting buffer underruns. When I burn with one recorder at a time, it works fine and takes about 8 minutes. When I burn two DVDs at a time, it takes about a half hour or more. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Both burners are set to booktype of DVD-ROM and am using the same media...Tyo Yuden DVD+R rated at 8x. This same problem happens in Nero 6 and 7. Also, both drives are set to cable select...not master and slave...don't know if that matters. Thanks -Jim
I'd set the jumpers to Master/Slave. Just seems to give better results. What are your computer specs? You might not have enough to burn two discs at that speed. You could try burning at a slower speed and see if that helps.
You may not be able to handle the transfer rate required to keep two streams going at 8x--maybe try a slower speed, like 4x. I suppose you are watching the buffer to see how it is doing during the burns? Of course, Nero may be lowering the speed which is why it may be taking longer. You can check your log to see if you can tell, or post it. Look for a file named NeroHistory.xxx to see if you can find it in your Core directory. If you decide to post it, make sure and take your serial number out, and it may be in several places because there is one entry for each burn attempt, and the lastest are the last entries.
