Multiroom starview - simple question

I know this has probably come up a lot, but the search here isn't the easiest to use.

If I get a single cable connection from my cable company, can I simply put this connection through a splitter and run it into two starview boxes? This is as opposed to splitting the starview's output into two TVs.
