hi, hope this is correct forum. i have 2 computers, a desktop dell 4700 with philips dvd8631 (apparently only burns +r)and sonic recordnow. also have old laptop that only reads dvd-r (not dvd+) 1. firstly i want to burn some data onto a dvd+r but it will not fill the entire disk. can i do multisession on it as with cdr (so i can add more stuff to it later) 2. as my laptop does not read +r disks, i figured i need to booktype to dvd-rom when i burn. firstly i'm led to believe the philips dvd8631 (firmware cd21) automatically sets the booktype for +r to dvd-rom. if not can i do it with sonic or now i need to get nero. 3. finally, can i produce a multisession dvd and booktype to dvd-rom. many thanks
hi 1, i think you should be able to do it on a dvdr (just data) 2, as mentioned your drive needs to be able to booktype! does it? not sure what you mean on firmware? the software dvdinfo pro can booktype your drive (if it supports it!) click top center button (+RW) 3, yes i think its possible (not gone dvdr route multi)
Dear noki388, Not meaning to intrude, but you should note that multi-session burning is still not a very reliable technology. Time and time again people are experiencing problems with it and asking for help here. So be careful.
