music cd to hard drive

    how do you take music from a cd & put it on your hard drive.i tried right-clicking & sending it to my documents but that doesnt work..any help would be greatly appreciated???

    The CD has to be ripped to your hard drive. You also need to decide what format you want your music in. MP3 is very popular but isn't the best as it is lossy and isn't gapless. WAV and FLAC are lossless and gapless but have huge file sizes. There are others but their compatability isn't that great.

    A good method is to use Exact Audio Copy (with the right settings, see the installer Wizard, to make lossless MP3 files).
    Avoid gaps, though. A MP3 collection has gaps, until you burn it with no-gap on a backup audio CD.

    EAC certainly is the best. I recommend it to everyone who asks about MP3 ripping.
