my burner is slow all of a sudden

    I have been copying cds and dvds for a long time and they have been burning fast. But lately when i burn a cd it takes up to 18 minutes and a dvd takes over an hour to burn. What is the problem?

    Hi gpl1023
    Sounds like the drive is in PIO mode - should be in DMA mode.
    Here's a guide to check and get it back in DMA mode.
