my cd&dvd drives are going crazy

    Hello, This problem just started tonight. Every time I put a cd or dvd into my drive my screen goes black for a second or two, also when I reject them the same thing happens. Any ideas, Thanks in advance Bob

    try disconnecting 1 drive at a time from the wide data cable to see which 1 might be causing the problem.

    I tried it with no luck, it does it with one or the other disconected.

    try another ide cable.
