My Computer At Start Up

    Ok guys heres the thing, when my computer is on it runs perfectly fine, but when i restart it or turn it off and it starts up again, it gets past the Windows XP logo then reboots again but then reverts to the screen (Safe Mode, Last known good config, Start windows Normally) from then i have to go into Safe Mode, shut down my pc and turn it on again then it will boot fine, any other way ie - Last Known Good Config wont work, then when i get into windows it says your computer has recoverd from a serious error saying this is were the fault is - C:\DOCUME~1\User\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERe865.dir00\Mini103005-02.dmp
    but i have run i virus scan using norton and Microsofts Anti Spyware and no luck, i was just woundering can any of you guys help me?

    Have you tried repairing or reinstalling xp?

    Two things, clear out your temp files...
    Go to Start->Run->Temp and then clear out all those temp files, then secondly show hidden files, go to Start->MyComputer->Program Files->Local Disk->Docments and Settings->YOUR NAME->Local Settings and then clear out all those files too.

    If this doenst help,as bpitt said, backup your files and do a reformat!

    Thanks for the info guys, my college tutor suggested reinstalling windows today, is there anyway i can reinstall or repair windows without formatting

    No, you will have to reformat.

    Do u have and AMD machine cause i get this problem every now and then when i leave the pc on for too long and turn it off and then turn it straight back on if the pc does not get enough time too cool down it create problems. But do as what has been said and u should b fine.

    its an AMD processor and Nvidia mainbord, i have done what has been said but no lcuk :( if i leave the pc off for a night, the problem still percists so i may have to format lol

    I like everyone else think that reformating ur pc is the best option for you at the moment.

    have you scanned the hd with the the system tools error checker? also defragging the system might help out.make sure there is enough space on your hd.meaning the hd is not overcrowded.and also do a disc cleanup and select to delete temp files.
