Hi. I'm having this strange problem, I can't remember how I caused it and I can't imahine how to correct it. Suddenly my PC is uncapable yo play MP3 correctly. That is, they play , but full of noises and so on. The fact happens both on the music I extract (as MP3) with EAC from my CDs and on AVIs I made from my DVDs, to test it (AVI files usually have a MP3 CBR audio streams). Fortunately, the effect isn't crucial: both CDs and movies made by turinig such material back seem to be correct, once I play them on my CD player or on my DVD player, but neverthless this fact is very annoying. Please note: I delete the additional MP3 codec I had installed than since I couldn't hear MP3 no more, I used the free DirectShow manager (DSFMgr.exe) to restore the standard Directshow codecs. Again, nothing: I can heared lot of noise before and after that (no apparent difference). Please note: I am a little worried about 'playing' with this issue because, before restoring DirectShow the way I did I could play MP3 no more. Please note, on DirectShow Manager I set the 'property' of the LAME MPEG Layer III to 'maximum', so the problem doesn't seem having or not a codec. I cannot know what could it be.. Is there a 'safe way' to try to restore my PC's capability to play correctly MP3 files? Thanks in advance.
They do this even with WinAmp using WaveOUT instead of DirectSound? If so your sound card driver probally is corrupted.
