I was getting up from my computer when i tripped on a cord connceting to my printer when the computer fell off the stand. i hooked everyything back in and put it back but the computer wont start. The power at my house is not out because i used the same plug for my monitor. Can someone help me so i can turn my computer back on. im on my friends cpu right now.
What part of the computer fell off? if it was the tower, maybe the AC cable that connects to the tower is a little loose. Maybe something inside like your video card disconnected from the shock... Do you hear any beeps when you try to turn it on?
no all the connections round the back fell out besides the printer and monitor cuz theyre screwed in but i cant turn it on period. it doesnt make any beeping sounds.
Usually if there is a bad component in the computer, like a bad HHD, RAM, or Video card, the computer will still come up, but will emit a beep (i believe its three in a row) letting you know that there is something wrong. However if it just wont turn on at all (no light, no sound at all) it could be that the PSU died. Would you happen to have another power supply around?
on most atx computers, there is an on/off switch mounted on the back of the psu. try it to see if accidentlly turned off. also same with voltage switch but harder to do that by accident as nothing sticks out of back of case. check to see if set for correct voltage for your country as in 115v ot 230v.
