my computer doesn't recognize dv camera

    i have a firewire plug with a usb on the other end. i plugged the firewire in the dv camera canon zr300 and camera don't recognize it. any help!?

    Firewire on one end and USB on the other end? Impossible: USB and Firewire are two completely different, incompatible, connections.
    If your camcorder has both USB and Firerwire, use Firewire. Connect your camcorder, turn it on and it will automatically be recognized.
    If you absolutely want to use USB, you will have to install special drivers that should have been delivered with the cam and also use the software that came with it.
