    ok, I have had a medion desktop pc for a while now that i bought a lonnnng time ago at futureshop. I have no idea what its worth, or what it is capable of doing (i haven't tried). I was wondering if i should upgrade it, or just build a new computer.. because everything still works fine and it's pretty damn fast.
    :::::::::
    -Pentium 4 530 with HT technology 3.0ghz
    -2.0 gb's of ram (kingston i think)
    -120gb SATA hard drive (western digital)
    - 16x double-layer dvd -+ rw burner drive
    - dvd-rom drive (plays any dvd or cd)
    -128 nVidia GeForce FX5300 w/vga, s-video, and dvi outputs
    - 9:1 media slots (for SD cards, memory sticks ETC.)
    - floppy drive

    is it worth to upgrade? or scrap.. what do you think I should do, and how much is it worth??

    What do you plan on doing? It seems decent enough. See if your board supports a Dual Core CPU. Just stick one of those in and you should be good to go.

    Unless you plan on gaming. Then you would probably have to change the CPU, Video card, Mobo, and PSU.

    Are you in Canada?

    BIG NO, to the Nvidia chipset. Get a GA-X48-DS4 or a GA-P45-DS3R. Oh and for the video card get a HD4850.

    As far as recommendations go, I would stick to the video card and motherboard I previously recommended. If you really need something cheaper you can get a GA-EP35-DS3R as a motherboard.

    If it's possible, wait till the end of October. The new Intel CPUs should be coming out and the current ones will drop in price.

    Agreed, but the Ep35-DS3R is no longer for sale, so you need the Ep45 instead.

    Yeah everything looks good. The RAM is very expensive though. You may be getting overcharged. I payed less for my Dominators(Dominators are more expensive versions of the XMS2) and my RAM is 4GB PC2-8500.

    As for overclocking, I would highly recommend it. A Tuniq Tower will do the job nicely.
