I'm upgrading someone's operating system to XP. He has two hard
drives. Once the OS installation was complete, I noticed the second hard drive not shown in "My Computer". Only the one is displayed.

Device manager tells me each HD is working properly. So the second hard drive is visible to the OS, and has it's driver listed in it's respective properties window.

So why can I not access it in "My Computer"? I can access the first one, and open the properties window there too. This also lists both devices, yet still the other one is not visibly displayed.

    Appreciate any suggestions... thanks, Frank

    Nice piece of doco, DDP!

    I'd follow DDP's direction.

I am assuming this drive is a non-NTFS drive (ie: fat16 or fat32) and therefore xp not recognizing it, or if it's from the Factory (new) it's not partitioned and you will need to partition first and then format the drive.
