My AIWA DVD stooped playing VCDs one fine day. However, it plays Audio CDs and DVDs very well. What cud be the reason/ Could the BIOS have gone corrupt? If yes can BIOS be rewritten and how?
    Please help!

Its an AIWA XH-DT8. A mini home theater system with a combo of Cassette Tape,DVD,VCD and CD. It has 5.1 surround with 5000W PMPO. Do u have any soln for this problem. I have not got back to my vendor bcoz warranty is over and the service charges are exhorbitant. I can as well buy a cheap VCDman and attach to it. Please help

the reason i asked is that sometimes players have 2 different lasers, 1 for dvd and one for everything else. Before on this forum we found out that one guy put a data cd in by accident and burned out his laser and couldnt play vcd anymore"
