Some of the dvd's I burn freeze and some don't. I copy them all the same way with dvd shrink with any dvd in the background. Is this a side effect of shrink or could it be my media i but use tdk.

Sounds like those TDK's to me - not the best. What's speed do you burn at? That may be another factor so you may want to take it down a notch.
For media switch to the good stuff like Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. Instore look for verbatim or made in Japan Fuji,Sony Maxell. Online you can get Taiyo Yuden & Verbatim (if in the US) at http://supermediastore.com.

Media and speed of the burn are the major causes of problem burns.

I used to have TDK media--yes, they froze just as you describe.

    Dump 'em.

If you have a dog, or any other pet, give it to them to play with. With the exception of memorex, I would put TDK at the bottom.
