My DVD player suddenly stopped playing CD-Rs and VCDs

    My DVD Player until a couple of months ago played VCDs, CD-R (both bought and recorded). Now, suddenly it does not recognize any discs other than DVDs. How can I correct this problem.

    Internal PC DVD player, or standalone?

    Stand alone DVD Player...
    It is a Pioneer 3Disc DVD Player.

    Have you changed recordable media manufacturer?

    The same VCDs and CDs that used to play fine before are not playing any more.
    SOme of the CDs are original ones that I bought not recorded ones.
