I have a Toshiba DVD recorder and it wont record some movies off my TV because it says they are copyright protected. I find this to be totall bullsh!t as I can do it just fine with a VCR, but not a DVD recorder? Is there any way around this as recording movies off the TV was the main reason I bought it in the 1st place. I don't want to involve a computer if at all possible, so are there any tricks or devices that would allow me to do what I want?
I found the same thing, I just bought Sony RDR VX 515.....and off of Dish Network I get the same warning......I have found that if I record to my PVR first then it will record a DVD from the playback of that??????? I had the new LiteOn LVW 1107HC1 ($100.00) Best Buy,,,,that one recorded moveies of Disn Network (never tried pay per view) but that unit lacked features that I wanted so I upgraded to the Sony????
I have the same problem with recording to a dvd with my Toshiba. I was told I could insert a "Go-DVD video duplicator between my cable box and the Toshiba DVDR and then burn the movies. Does any one know about the Go-DVD duplicator and will this work without degrading the tv signal?
