my dvd-rom wont read divx when others will

    my computer wont read a dvd-r that has divx files on it but my brothers dvd rom and cd rom combo drive will how can i make my dvd-rom drive read divx?

    My DVD Nec didn't read DVD-R taht has DivX file too=(( I use only DVD+R
