Ok, I finally came accross a way of converting DVD movies into KVCD movies. The software used isn't free but the result is great IMHO. Here are the steps. 1. Use AnyDVD & DVD Decrypter to make backup the DVD movie into 1 IFO file and 1 large VOB file. 2. Use Xilisoft DVD Ripper Platinum to convert the movie into AVI (352x240, 24fps) + MP3 (320kbps, 44.1khz, Stereo). 3. Use WinAVI Video Converter 7.6 and load the converted AVI file and select to convert to KVCD with the audio at 128kbps and the file to fit onto 1 700MB CD. That's it. That's all there is to it. If anyone knows of an issue with this idea or possible problems that could occur, please share it/them with me. I hope this helps the people who are willing to spend some money to get great quality KVCD onto a single CD-R.
To make a one click kvcd just visit this site. It tells you about the program and gives you the torrent file. Just copy and paste the name of the program and do a search on google for it. Once found you can use it to make kvcd with chapters and backgrounds. It is so simple you don't even need a template and all that junk.
http://www.mininova.org/tor/276370 This is the link to read about the program and its wonders. Best of all its free ware. You may also purchase the gold which i recommend. Program name is: Diko Gold 2.23 current edition. This is the link directly to the page to download the freewareDiko Gold. http://www.digital-digest.com/software/diko_gold.html#downloads
You also have to go to www.divx.com and download the free download which is 15.1mb. this installs the codecs and other stuff to make diko work properly. So first install the divx pack that is free then diko and it will work. Any problems get back to me.
