The most concerning part is the agency that was used...what does software piracy have to do with homeland security? I am thinking of putting all my stuff except my PC setup and PS3 on ebay...selling it all, and using to profits to move to Canada...and I'm not even a pirate or political type.
i dont know much about homeland security.personally if someone knocked on my door and tried to take my pc or arrest me and they weren't a cop i wouldnt hesitate to lock the door and ring the cops myself.if it was the cops and it they wanted my pc i'd be asking for a receipt on anything of any value that they planned on taking.even when i got fined for carrying a cannabis pipe 7years ago i go a receipt saying it had been taken by the police.I hope if i ever do go to USA i dont get in any legal trouble ive seen the tv cop shows from america and 99% of the time they taser people when it isnt needed.
How can you make yourself feel superior if you aren't bullying, and forcing submission? Most in law enforcement seem to be the type who was popular and athletic in high school, but lost that status when entering the real world and realizing no one cares. Any other ways to prove alpha dog status and become relevant again? Taze some1...
But chances are, that if someone is knocking on your door, they see you downloading illegal stuff. Not really hacking into your computer to see if you have illegal folders. (which in itself would be illegal without that warrant, which you need probable cause to get) So really all you're doing with truecrypt is making shit harder for yourself. Because if they get your computer....Do you really think an open source program is going to do anything?
well rebel hes claiming he has the originals and that they failed to check whether he had the originals or not.if somethings on your computer and the police or any law inforcement agency gets hold of your computer there gonna find the files no matter how hard you try and hide them or what programs you use.the only way around it would be an external hard drive or upload the files to website.
Nah...the only way to protect yourself is to place shotgun shells between all your hard drives, wired up to electronic detonators...if the cops bust in, you press the button and all the evidence goes up in a roar of smoke and fire!
Im in australia so i can't just walk in just any shop and buy shotgun shells.sucks but thats australia for you.should work in USA anyway
Here in the states, you can buy a shotgun over the counter without a waiting period...just walk in with cash, walk out with a shotgun and a thousand rounds of ammo. All you need is an ID to prove you are over 18...no 3-7 day waiting period like on hand guns. I'm sure that there is something you could use to shred a hard drive in a fraction of a second...perhapse a small EMP device..or have those been outlawed too?
that would look good in court an emp dam i wonder if you could build on I'm Shure it would get the attention of some government agency and you would get in more trouble just for that they probably call you a terrorist, the you go to jail forever LOL
if not your fault if a guy from homeland security or a cop touches your computer and it self distructs.technically they owe you a new computer and they shouldnt be messing with your computer if they dont know what they're doing.
The op is either lying, spamming or is truly an idiot. If you are dumb enough to continue downloading/sharing pirated material after you have been charged for it and face hundred-thousand dollar charges, and then think you can conceal it from a federal agency then you have something seriously wrong with you. Not to mention coming on the internet and telling people how you think you are hiding it. Do you really think that a free download could encrypt a file so that it is unreadable by the government? Also, I highly doubt that homeland security would be investigating copyright infringement. Try the FBI next time. You would be facing even worse charges if you tried that, including manslaughter (or even murder) depending how far away the cops are and what slugs you used.
May 12 is comming up my lawyer and I have meet with another ip Lawyer and look at my case gonna post on may 12 or 13
People think that EMPs are always explosive or atomic, they are not. In fact, the first (gasoline) automobiles came with EMP devices, as unshielded ignition wires create powerful EMP pulses. I know a big-time EMP (like the kind that wipes out your neighbors stuff) are illegal, I am just not sure about the smaller ones...there have to be some exceptions otherwise these old cars would be outlawed. I may have to do an experiment on an old 40GB drive or something.
bullshit.if they want it no free program is gonna hide it.i also find it hard to beleive that homeland security would get involved in a copyright case.unless there is something you arent telling us.come on,i sure as hell wasnt born yesterday.
chances are no matter how good you try to hide something if you have downloaded it and its on your computer a skilled computer technician can find it. @killerbug i dont know much about EMP devices.did see an old ford once that started with a pull of a cord (like a lawnmover).
No, I'm not a "tec", but I am about to become an FBI agent. If you knew what you were talking about then you would not believe that you can hide something on your computer from a highly trained forensic investigator.
