I recently bought a new G5 mouse to replace my old G5 mouse. The promise of an extra botton and improved mouse wheel were part of the purchase, but the feature that sold me was their long-lasting black teflon mouse feet. My orriginal G5 mouse came with white teflon feet that lasted less than a month, and all the replacement feet I found were the same cheap, white, soft teflon material. ...So I bought the new G5. The mouse feet are the same white, soft, cheap teflon that my last G5 came with. When I asked logitech how I could get some of the black long-lasting feet, they refered me to the mouse skatez website (they do not carry any such item). (NOTE: the way logitech packages this mouse, it is impossible to see the bottom of the mouse without damaging the packaging) Now I am getting mad. I paid over $50 for this mouse, and it is not as advertised, nor can it be upgraded to be as advertised. The black feet are advertised right on the box, but logitech is still using the cheap ones, and their support will not provide any help! Anyone else bought the new G5 mouse, advertised with black "long lasting" feet, only to get white feet that last less than a month of light use?
I would call them again and yell a little louder, If they don't help you, ask for a manager. Keep climbing the ladder until you get someone who will help you.
According to Logitech's latest claims, they are teflon (I'll assume this is true, as I have seen white Teflon grease that is only slightly more resiliant than these feet)! They still are not black, and Logitech support has been very careful to avoid that issue. I went and got some good feet from Slick Surf. They are not Teflon, and they are not black, but they are about 100 times smoother than what logitech provided, and they have held up very well so far. This really hurts me...now that Logitech has abandoned customer service, quality, and good design (look at the new G15 keyboard), I have to find a new favorie mouse/Keyboard maker
I just purchased the new G15 keyboard V2.0 I'm very happy with it, keys are much quieter, keyboard is smaller and they display looks alot better than the old one.
I guess it's because the op brought the design of the G15 into it in this post. I have a G15 as well and am very happy with it.
My complaint on the new G15 is that they dropped the blue lights & clamshell display to make the G19 look better. I would buy another G15v1 if they made it, and might buy a G19, but the G15v2 might as well not even have a screen the way they set it up. ...They know that people want blue lights & clam shell design screens; that is why the G19 has them. ...They also know that people do not like the cheap white teflon mouse feet; that is why they advertise that they do not use them. There was a time when Logitech was the new kid with something to prove...Then they became one of the leaders, and vowed to destroy all competition...Then they were THE leader, making the best stuff they could, with new products competing only with their old products...then they sold their Billionth mouse, and decided to try making more money by intentionaly making the lower-priced products inferior.
