A little over a month of work and it's done. Made from 3/16" & 1/4" acrylic plastic. Lots of fine cutting, fileing, sanding, epoxying, fitting and painting.

Simple flip-top design. Reset & Power buttons intact. Lever for activating the door position switch. Power indication.

    Here's some pics.

Cool, nice work, it would be better if there was still that "NINTENDO" plate on it's cover:D just my opinion...

Is that a HP camera? :p

    Thanks for the compliments.

Nope, 4Mpixel Kodak. Normaly takes 2304x1768 picitures, but I rescaled the ones shown here to 640x480 for the sake of dialup users. :p

Did you just cut off the lid mounts from the orig case or make a new one?

If they are the origs, you might be able to make a latch system for the lid, but hey is the flip does it for you then right on man, looks good none-the-less.

    Thanks for the compliment.

The entire case (well, not the bottom part that the cube sits in) is custom made. The only part of the original top I used were the buttons. As a matter of fact, you can visit my newly created page that show some step by step progress of the build.

I was thinking of having a spring loaded door with latch and an open button, but in the end, it just would have taken a lot longer to do, and would have restricted how much finger space was avaialble. So I just went with a simple Flip-Top design.

I could probably still do a latch and spring loaded door later at some point with some modifications. But all in all, it works just fine as-is, and I probably won't bother.
