Hi, I have had this dream/idea of having full DLNA network home and so far the stuff has been waiting for insipiration/time/<write your excuse here>. so, we currently have: Sony KDLW5500 Television PS3 Buffalo Gigabit linkstation NAS Buffalo APs Topfield 600-series box with WLAN ZyXEL router And the idea is that all media (pictures etc) are stored in the Buffalo NAS and thus accessible by all authenticated clients. Yesterday I fired up the setup. After some enabling of UPNP/DNLA/PCast features on Buffalo NAS, ZyXEL etc. I managed to be able to "see" the NAS as a media server on the network. However, PS3 kept disconnecting the link and returned DLNA protocol error 500 or 2006. I installed a WLAN analyzer to my laptop and started to scan the "air" to see how the network bandwidth behaves. I found some points to be improved in my AP positioning but nothing too serious. Then I started googling around. Interestingly, Buffalo lists a fix in firmware 2.11 that "fixes the PS3 play issue". So, it might be that it's because of that. I'll keep updating this thread as the "project" continues. Comments & suggestions are always welcome.
All right. The WLAN connectivity problems are now over. Both Buffalo AirStations are fixed on certain channel and bridged over WDS. Awesome. Topfield is hooked to the network and I must say the TF600 is a nice piece of kit. I can now download all my recordings via FTP to my "office" and thus free the diskspace. Setting up the WDS is not straightforward or I am just stupid. Finally managed to get it up. Playing with different AP's and their MAC addresses is not always so entertaining. Next : disk array (Buffalo LinkStation). As you've noticed ; progress is a bit slow. We are expecting our 1st baby in couple weeks so there are higher priority things on the list
