ok this might be quite long because it's quite complicated. So here's the deal, Connected to my router I've got a PC downstairs, a ps3 downstairs and this PC upstairs (the one with the problem) There all wired connections but this upstairs PC just keeps disconnecting randomly for no reason that i can figure out, sometimes in reconnects itself within a few seconds, sometimes its goes to limited or no connectivity and other times i have to pull the ethernet cable out an put it back in. Everything was fine until I formatted a week or so ago and now i have this problem. The PC downstairs is fine an doesn't have any problems, same with the ps3, So I figure the router is working. If I use the same ethernet cable from this upstairs PC and use it for my 360 it works fine and that doesn't disconnect. So I figure its not the cable. If I use the other network card on this PC it still has the same problem. So I figure it's not the network card. I'm not an expert but I think it's something to do with this PC,like the settings or something. I don't have a clue how to fix it but it's driving me up the wall. So please if anyone with a bit more knowledge than I have can help it would be great. Plus if anyone wants more details please let me know. Thanks in advance.
First make sure your chipset & NIC drivers are the latest available. Next, you might want to change to a static IP adress on the PC. These two things fix most such issues.
