My ipod wont turn on.....

    My ipod wont turn on anymore, i tried plugging it back into the computer and the comp doesnt even read that i have anything even plugged in so i cant try to restore it... can anyone help me?

    Can you charge your iPod (does it have an empty battery)? Have you tried resetting your iPod yet?

    what u mean by reset it? Like when i go to itunes and plug my ipod in usually it would read it and ask for any updates but its like my comp doesnt even read that an ipod is there and it wont charge it just stays dead

    Press & hold the [bold]Menu[/bold] + [bold]Middle[/bold] buttons for about six seconds, and the Apple logo will appear.

    Yea when i do it nothing happens..no apple logo just a blank screen

    ok well i got the apple screen to come on but now it shows like a folder with a sign with an exclamation mark and wont do anything

    Take your iPod back to the Apple store and show them that screen! They will give you a new one!

    Ok, that is progress. Now, try connecting your iPod to your computer once again. Can you see it in 'my computer'? If not, try putting it into [bold]disk mode[/bold] (instructions here - http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651) and checking again if you can see it in 'my computer'.

    when i first tried putting it to disc mode i got a picture of an ipod frowning with that exclamation sign in front of it after the apple sign....i tried doing it again and now the apple sign wont go away

    It's probably the notorious 'sad iPod' icon. I believe you should take it in for a check-up at your local Apple store.
