I own 2 computers, and CyberLink's software works with neither although the JVC box said otherwise. I run Windows2000Pro on one, and Tiger on the Mac. Anyhow, can someone help me out on what I can do to get my camera's MOD files converted onto DVD? Does someone have Vista that runs Cyberlink software for a JVC Everio camcorder?
Not many programs handle JVC's proprietary format, but SDCopy does. You can download it, here: http://zyvid.com/smf/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=280.0;id=217
Here is a link that may help you. It seems a few of them suggested changing the file extension from mod/moi to mpg. You might want to try that. Here is the link. http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/18620p1.html
The JVC Everio video cameras have a problem properly setting the widescreen flags in their files. If you change the file extension to .mpg, you will lose those widesreen flags. SD Copy will copy, and rename the files, properly.
