my laptop is shutting down when creating partition in windows xp 64bit

    id like to downgrade my laptop (msi ex460 intel core 2 duo 2.2 gig 512mb videocard,4 gig ram) from windows vista 64bit to windows xp 64bit,but something unusual happens while installing windows xp 64bit,
    when im creating hdd partition (windows xp setup menu) my laptop always shuttingdown,i try to format the hdd several times,but same thing happens,even when i format it to ntfs (quick and normal mode) or (leave the current file allocation)i also try other windows xp 64bit cds,but the laptop completely turns off again,any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated,thanks.

    Well first of all, get rid of the XP64 idea, that is nothing more than a beta and pretty much worthless.

    Have you tried going through your preliminary setup of vista and seen if that issue crops up?

    Just seen you only have 4G of RAM, a little bit will be skewed for the video card, but 32bit can map 4G.

    hi,My daughter got this(or similiar, looks liek this) chinese digital mp3 player as a gift.

    it says version 2007 firmware installed on it....problem is my computer won't recognize the usb. the drivers on the disk that came with it are not for this product..(for a web cam and video security) This item was purchased over ebay, as it has ebay power seller written on it and the website on the box is bogus. the mp3 player works and it good enough for her i just need a driver for it (searched the internet and unsure of what to download) to transfer music to it. I am using OS windows XP
