See your fist Post! I'm not a Mod but, (So it may not be my place to say it). But, it's considerd very, VERY rude to cross Post.

In short you'll have to figure out which XBOX™ version you have (i.e. it's going to be somewhere between a 1.0 or a 1.6a\b), and then find the best matching BIOS image for that XBOX™ Here:http://www.xbox-scene.com/bios_retail.html

Locate which ever File you think will work and then Flash that with the Software that you can get Here:http://www.dms3.com/cgi-bin/xbit/site.pl?page=home

Ok Looks like you'll need some more handholding here. Once you actually manage to find a File and Download the Flasing Software. You will have to run the Flashing Program...

Ok (I'm assuming you have the Flashing Program open!)
    You should see this:[IMG]

Ok for the sake of keeping this needlessly simple. We shall use 'Bank 4' as it offers the broadest range of Immage Sizes between 256kb/s to 1Mb.

So after you connect your X-Bit (or XBOX™ depending on how you have your X-Bit mounted!) up to the USBx.x on the Chip and PC! you'll need to hit the 'Connect' button. This will cause (should cause the Xbit to turn on it's 'Geen' LED this is to let you know that your Chip is in it's ready state.

Lets say for the sake of Sh*ts and Giggles you wanted to flash an Xecuter2 4981.67 BIOS on your Chip. This Image is (or should be only) 256kb/s so we'd want to use one of the Two avalible 256kb Blocks (called BIOS by the Flasher),. Again to keep this simple lets use the Top most Block (Bios 4).

Now you can press the 'Write' Button this should now allow you to choose which 'BIOS' (Bank) to write to, we are going to use 'BIOS 4' so hit that and a 'Locater Box' should come up point that to your copy of the 'Xecuter2 4981.67' File and then, 'OK'. This will start the Flashing prosess.

Do not move of that Window or move the Window during this moment or you will break the program. :( It will continue the Flash and everything will be ok but, you'll not be able to tell when the Flash is complaete untill the LED on the Xbit is lit up again.

Now after all that you'll have to tell the Xbit where the 'BIOS' it's to boot with is! you do this by setting a number of 'Dipswitches' which are next to the USBx.x connector.

We wanted to use Bank 4 / BIOS 4 right? Ok heres the 'Dipswitch' setting. (There are Four Switches BTW) and the setting for Bank 4 BIOS 4 is: UP UP DOWN DOWN.

Just one more thing the last Switch (Switch 4) must alway be down! As Switch 4 is the XBL!™ Switch (i.e. the Modchip On/Off Switch).

Hopefully you have enough info to get up and running now!

As for Hacking Gaylo (sorry Halo 1 or 2) or any other Game FWIW, is an entirely different topic and should have nothing to do with your Modchip. The sole purpose of the Modchip is to 'Hijack' the Stock BIOS image that's already on the XBOX™ so that you can eventualy do the kinds of things Microsoft never really intended you to do with the XBOX™ like being able to use Homebrew Apps like the XBOX™ Media Center as an economical replacement for M$ Media Center PC's. Or to play back 'Unsigned Code'.

A Modchip is not going to correct a poorly writen Game Backup that was **NOT** written in the XFS / XISO Format, or magicly allow you to use any Media (CD's DVD's you might wish),. If you have problems reading (i.e. Playing) CD-R's or DVD± Media in your XBOX™ then it's either you or your XBOXs'™ DVD-ROM Drive that's to blame! And your Modchip can't do squat about it.

Again Gaylo (there I go again!), I don't really care for Halo can't you tell?? ;) Hacking Halo is as much a theme as say hacking any of the Dead or Alive Games you'll have to locate such threads and perticipate in such discusions there. For any such info on how to " Run faster higher better" then anyone else.

Just note in case you haven't figured it out yet that by doing this you stand a far far better chance of getting kicked baned off the XBOX™ Live! Service. So if you are ok with that you can still use such services such as 'Kai' or 'XBConnect' in order to play Halo On-Line. Presumably with the rest of the "Juping higher Running faster " crowd...

How did you spend $50.00(USD), on nothing? not I'm not sure I'm following you. If your main goal is to hack Halo (2) you are going to need a Modchip in order to eventualy do so.

I don't know how to expain it you (or anyone else), any better then this: A Modchips sole purpose is to change the way your your Console (XBOX, Playstation or Gamecube etc.) accepts / rejects anything you eventualy want to do. The On-Board BIOS on the XBOX™ (called the TSOP), was written by Micosoft™ to only allow you to playback Audio CD's, DVD's limited to the region (i.e. 1 ~ 6), you origianly purchased your XBOX™ in. And of course your local regional original XBOX™ Game Discs.

A Modchip (when in use with a cracked BIOS Image), will allow you to continue to do the above. But, now you can also now play Games that were not originaly sold in your region (i.e. Imports), this falls over into DVD Movies as well. Moreover the mechinisim that determins wether a Game Disc is original and vaild is also removed. This is the part of the Modchip thats the most useful! Because once that check gets droped you can then play backups. And install things like the XBOX™ Media Center to playback .avi & .Mp3 Files.

The problem (or as it appears to me), that you are haveing is that you think the Modchip is the 'A & O'. Sadly that's just not the case. =(

All the replacement BIOS Images have one thing in common. THEY ARE ALL ILLEAGLE! Thuss no one is going to sell you such a Chip with the 'code' already on it. As they will land there Butts in Jail faster the fast! And then they wouldn't be the first ones either. But, the Modchip itself is not illeagle till you actually install the code on it and by then you can use it under the 'Fair Use' Law(s) (could be BS), But, unless you then latter turn around and sell your XBOX™ on eBay with 30 Games on it. Microsoft™ can not touch you!

So inorder to get the whole thing kicking you'll need an immage File.
and inorder to find in Imgae File you'll need to know how old you XBOX is. there are currently Eight versions[/b] of the XBOX™ out there and they are differnt enough that if you shuld decide to use an Image that was not ment for your version. You could find yourself looking at a 'Black Screen' with full Audio. (i.e. No Video!)

You should probably take some time and use this guide to help determin which version you have. http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions_1.php Sadly this means you may have to open your XBOX™ back up. Alternitvely you can try useing this guide http://www.xbox-scene.com/versions_0.php to figure out your XBOX™ ver. from the S/N on the bottom of the XBOX™

But, you'll need to know if your XBOX™ is a v1.0 to 1.5 or if it's a 1.6a or a 1.6b. in order to locate the correct BIOS immage for your XBOX™.

If you have access to a p2p (i.e. eMule), Try searching for things like 'Xecuter2' or 'Evox D6' or 'Evox M8' these are immages usualy around 256kb/s in size. Unlike the Evox D6 or M8 Images, the Xecuter2 ones will replace the 'Microsoft™' logo under the 'Green "X"' that comes just after the 'Flubber Animation'. this will be your first clue that the Chip is working.

If I could recomend to you a version in pertcular it would be the 'Xecuter2 4978.03'
Which has a built in FTP on it. what's so great about that you might ask. Well for one you can save yourself from having to download a +600MB Boot CD and having to burn it. So you can just install a simple Dashboard like Evox or Avalauch.

But you must first be at this point on moding the XBOX™ Hardware, before you can even beging to think about hacking any Games.
