Two days ago, it only took me about 25 min to burn a movie onto a DVD-5 (DVD-R), but now it takes me over 3 hours to do it on a DVD-5 (DVD+R).

will using a DVD+R actually make it slower or did some kind of bug get into my computer

ok, i just did it, but mine looks a little different
-> in device 0, instead of ultra DMA mode 4, i have ultra DMA mode 5
-> in device 1, i have DMA if available, and transfer mode: not applicable.

one more thing i noticed about my nero is that the buffer level keeps on jumping between 34%, 58%, and 82%. before this problem, the buffer stayed at 98%. is there a way to fix this?

    Try defragmenting your hard drive.

Do not multitask while burning, turn off all unnecessary programs including spyware.
You can post a Nero log if you wish, located here
Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.tx
